~School is out for summer and we are THRILLED!!! I think we are going to just try and take it easy the next few days and then figure out what to do with our summer. I am thinking about making my own version of the popsicle stick jar with activities on each stick it for a fun way decide what to do that day, figure out what to do when we are bored, etc. I am going to write down all my summer ideas (splash pad, playground, picnic lunch, playground McDonalds, water balloon fight, make tie-dye t-shirts, etc.) and just let the kids decide when we need to pick.  Some we’ll put back in the bucket and some will be one-time only things.  I will post on Instagram when I am done.

~This week started off a little crazy subscription box wise and they are still coming in! Slower than earlier in the week, but they are arriving. I still should be getting PopSugar, ipsy, Beauty Box 5 (which I thought I canceled), bluum, Citrus Lane, Genuine Articles, Birchbox, BuddhiBox, Box Furr You, Dottiebox Mini and one or two more. I am guessing they all won’t arrive by the end of the week, but I know they are all on their way to me.

~The winner of the Summer 2015 POPSUGAR Summer Must Have Box is Mary Ann C.!  Congrats Mary Ann, I will be e-mailing you soon.  I need to do some closet cleaning this weekend and I know I have a few giveaway goodies in there so if you didn’t win, there will be more chances.,

~For L’s Teacher Gift this year I went for the “Orange You Glad it’s Summer” theme and did a few little orange gifts. I got an orange Starbucks cup and then put a Starbucks gift card inside (okay that’s not orange but still), an Orange Leaf (fro-yo) gift card, nail polish, sunscreen, lip balm, hand sanitizer and tic tacs.  I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and it certainly was an easy one to do.

~Speaking of orange, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK is back tomorrow!  Is anyone planning on binge watching like I am?  I am pretty sure I will be able to get through the entire season by the end of the weekend.

~Have you tried any of the new Starbucks Frappuccino flavors (Caramel Cocoa ClusterCinnamon RollCotton CandyCupcakeLemon Bar and Red Velvet Cake)? L, WB and I tired the Cupcake and the Lemon and I think we all agreed the lemon was where it’s at!  I want to ry the Red Velvet one next!  In case you are wondering (I always am), the Lemon, Cotton Candy and Cupcake ones are cream based – i.e. they have no caffeine.

Oh the popsicle stick bucket idea seems good. I may try something similar. Ive been looking on Pinterest for some fun ideas. But some i want to do are huge projects that require supplies. So maybe ill bucket those and we can pick one or two a week to break things up or rainy days we cant do the pool.
Cant wait to see what my buddhi box has. I should have it tomorrow hopefully.
Do you have any recommendations for sites or such that can help me with fun ideas for the kids? I always feel like other than the basics my brain runs dry. Thanks!

Love that teacher gift idea! So any ideas for a male teacher / nurse who you get to talk to at least once a week for the past two years because your daughter has had so many allergic reactions? At Christmas I got him a really nice vintage wine in a box but he’s not a drinker. She’s graduating high school and has been so awesome to her.

Didn’t love the new Starbucks cotton candy – not awful, just not great. Heading out for the red velvet as soon as my dishwasher finishes.
Wish I had heard of the bucket idea when my girls were young. So clever!

Love your gifts so cute. Since I did that for teacher appreciation I need to come up with something else cute for end of year. I still have two weeks so plenty of time 😉
Do you guys have a local FB playgroup? I have one for my neighborhood and then one for my area of Cary. We don’t really have a set playtime in the summer but we toss ideas out and then meet up. Today we did the park and Ritas Ice and next week we are defintely doing the $1 kids movies and probably some pool and park times too. It’s nice to say hey we are going xyz if anyone wants to join. Gives the boys someone to play with.

I’ve been binge watching Orange is the new black all week! I’m on episode 8 season 2, so I’m hoping to finish by the time the new one comes out!I can’t wait to see it! I try to get as many episodes in after my boys go to bed. That Popsicle stick idea is great, I’m going to have to try it.

Very disappointed in my Starbucks store – I had not heard of these new flavors and when I tried to order a cookie dough one, she told me there was nothing close to that – hello??? what about all these new flavors???
