Hamptons Lane July 2015 Subscription Box – “Gatsby Cocktail Party”

Hamptons Lane curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.

The Box

Hamptons Lane generally ships in the second half of the month. I receive mine a little earlier for review purposes.

First Look

Hamptons Lane announces their box themes and the contents of the box in advance so opening it isn’t a total surprise.  However, unboxing the items is always more fun than just looking it pictures of it all online.

The Information Booklet

The July 2015 Hamptons Lane box theme was “Gatsby Cocktail Party” and included products to help you throw your own Gatsby inspired party.

Hamptons Lane has revamped their information booklet a little bit.  This month’s was packed with product information, party tips and ideas and a bunch of great recipes (cocktail and foods).  Here is what the box included:

~Gold Cocktail Rimming Sugar from Dell Cove Spices ($4.25): Hamptons Lane suggests sugars these for champagne drinks, like the French Lavender 75 or around the rim of a Classic Side Car cocktail.  Both sound pretty good if you ask me.

~Duo of Mini Cocktail Shakers from Hamptons Lane: We have a few full-sized cocktail shakers, but I don’t believe we have any mini ones?  We do now though!  These shakers are the perfect size for an individual serving.  The shakers are great for B and I because we generally don’t have the same taste in drinks.  I like mine fruity and he likes his, well, strong.

~Wooden Cocktail Muddler and Citrus Twist Peeler from Hamptons Lane: Of course you need the proper tools to make your cocktails!  The muddler will help you crush your fruits together with sugars and bitters while the citrus peeler will help you make fabulous garnishes.  Sometimes the garnish makes the drink!

~Lavender-Lemon Simple Syrup from Royal Rose Syrups ($11.50): This syrup is used in a ton of the included recipes.  I am most excited about trying it in “Daisy’s Daiquiri”, but I think B will want to try it in the “Polo Player’s Mint Julep”.  Good thing we have two shakers.

~Ginger Lemon Bitters from Hella Bitters ($5.78): These bitters are hand-crafted in New York and use both dry and crystallized ginger and lots of real lemon peels.  Totally a B item and it will make a great addition to his bar.

I couldn’t find prices for all of these items online (a few were Hamptons Lane exclusives), but I loved this box. It is a perfect one for B now that he has his basement bar all set up.  He’s going to love these new additions!
