~Good morning! I hope everyone had a good weekend! I (briefly) recapped ours last night, but it was a productive one. We did make time to get our free Slurpees on 7-11 day though! I am kind of obsessed with my new clean closet and am motivated to get more stuff organized around here. I really need to do a big toy clean out so maybe I will get that started this week.
~This week I am expecting POPSUGAR, The Bride Box, Citrus Lane, Birchbox, ipsy, Love With Food, BOXYCHARM, GLOSSYBOX, BarkBox and probably a few more that haven’t shipped yet. Mid-month is usually the “big” subscription box time so it’ll be busy!
~WEN users, I need some advice! I have been using the bottle I received in the July NewBeauty TestTube for a few weeks now and some days when I use it my hair looks amazing and other days, well, it looks like I have third-day hair (and not in a good way). Should I be alternating this with regular shampoo? Or do the different scents work differently? I remember using WEN years ago and I don’t think I had this issue? Help!
~Naked and Afraid XL did not disappoint yesterday. I would live in a (tiny) Tiny House before I would go on that show. The bugs alone would drive me crazy. Not to mention everything else – like having no clean water, being dirty constantly and having no food. Oh and being naked. Nope. Sort of related (well maybe), but the overnight dates are tonight on the Bachelorette! Even though I know what happens in the end (thank you Reality Steve) it’ll be fun to watch it all play out.
~I was wasting some time on Pinterest last night and came across a DIY Funfetti Candle. They look so easy to make and turn out so cute. Well, at least they looked super cute on Pinterest! I haven’t done a craft project lately so I am overdue!
~That’s about it from here! What boxes are you expecting? Have you done any craft / DIY projects lately?
I used WEN and having fine straight hair i became very greasy looking by the roots. But i found that i loved how the bottom part of my hair came. So, i did use it incorrectly by lightly shampooing the top of my hair, mainly the front top, and WEN on the rest. It worked for me that way.
I looooooove that candle!!! What a cute gift it would make especially with a jarred sugar cookie mix with sprinkles!
I am hoping to get the stuff for it tomorrow. I will report back!
My hair had to get used to WEN, after it did I had no problems. But I did learn to rinse like crazy and make sure none was left in me hair.
Maybe that’s the key??
Apropos of absolutely nothing, I just want to say that I LOVE YES TO CARROTS INTENSIVE NIGHT MOISTURIZER. Except I mostly don’t use it on my face. Instead, I use it on my legs and elbows and feet every night and every night I literally think, “This stuff is awesome!!!” None of the drugstores around here sell it (I checked them all… UGH) so I actually order like ten boxes of it at a time from drugstore.com. It’s also totally awesome for traveling because it’s one little pot and you can use it for everything!!!! Where has this stuff been all my life????
Okay, I clearly need to try this! I wonder if my Target has it??
I’ve been using WEN for several years now. I’ve learned that you need to use lots of it to make your hair clean and that using too little can make it fail to clean. I have long, but not thick colored hair. I thickly apply from roots to end, comb through and then leave on for a few minutes. I rinse very, very well and then do it a second time, leaving in and then rinsing very well. I heard the trick is to glop it on very thick and that works well for me. My color lasts longer and although I used to wash my hair every two to three days, it still looks great on day 5 and sometimes day 6. One of my friends uses a little after the second wash as a leave in conditioner, but that makes my hair limp. Good luck….I love WEN, hope it works better for you! Stephanie
Your hair sounds like mine. It’s not thick, but I have a lot of it! I guess I just need to find the right balance> And rinse. And rinse again!
With Wen, I’ve had success doing the cleaning work (really scrubbing my hair) that the product doesn’t do since it doesn’t lather. If you use your fingers to rub and massage your scalp for at least a minute you should notice that your hair isn’t greasy afterward.
I will give that a try! Thank you!
