My Pretend Place is a quarterly Dress Up Play subscription box for children aged 3-6. Each box includes dress-up costumes, activities or crafts, and other pretend play inspiration. They also offer a monthly Craft Subscription Box ($15/month) which is designed for children 3-8 years of age. It includes materials and instructions they need to create a new pretend play item each month.

Second First Look

The first look didn’t help me tell at all what the theme of this quarter’s box was.  I had absolutely no idea!

Turns out, the July 2015 My Pretend Place (Neutral) theme was “Veterinarian” (it was Fairy items for Girls and Fire Chief for Boys subscriptions ) and included the following:

~Melissa & Doug Veterinarian Role Play Set ($29.99): As soon as WB saw this he insisted on putting it on.  I am not even 100% sure he knew what kind of outfit it was,but he knew he wanted it on and now!  I could barely get this picture taken before I had to rip it all open and let him try it on.  My Pretend Place sends a lot of Melissa & Doug sets which are well made and always include a lot of fun accessories.

The Vet

~Let’s Meet A Veterinarian ($6.95): I have taken both boys to the vet with me when I take Buddy and Baxter, so they “get” what a vet does, but a little refresher never hurt.

Let’s Meet A Veterinarian

~X-Rays: I don’t know who thinks this is cooler, L or I.  L has an x-ray once but I know he doesn’t remember it (even though he says he does) so these were cool.

X-Rays

~Veterinarian Bag Project: The first project consisted of a veterinarian bag.  The kids haven’t done it yet, but the idea is to decorate it and store all your tools in it.  Very cute!

~Veterinarian Clipboard Project:  The second project was a vet clipboard.  You glue the chalkboard paper on the clipboard and then can note all of the treatments, condition, etc. of the animals you are treating!

Because of the craft projects in this box I can’t do a full breakdown on it.  I love the idea of My Pretend Place for a birthday gift or a just-because gift!  It’s very cute and works well for such a wide age range.

If you are interested in subscribing to My Pretend Place you can use the coupon code “pretend” to save 30% off your first box which brings the cost down to only $35!
