First Look

Not much to see in this first look.  Everything was buried under the shredded papers so I had to do some digging.

The Information Card

The July 2015 Petit Vour was a collaboration with Thoughtfully Mag and included the following items for a Cruelty-free Summer:

~Aila Nail Lacquer (Doolish) ($17): I love getting nail polish in subscription boxes! This polish is 5-free and non-toxic and is a really pretty “sunset coral” shade.  Petit Vour says it looks best with a cool drink in hand and I can believe that ;).

~Luxe de Mer Skincare Organic Rosewater Toner ($9.75): Subscribers received either Gentle Cleanser or Rosewater Toner. I would have been happy with either. This is very gentle and is made with only safe, organic ingredients.  I didn’t think it was at all drying and it didn’t irritate my skin at all.

~Nubian Mango Butter ($12.99): This smells SO good!  You do have to “warm it up” (aka make it smooth and spreadable), by putting some in your palms and rubbing your hands together.  I used it on my feet and they felt softer instantly.

~Routine De-Odor Cream ($4): I still can’t get into applying deodorant with my fingers.  I want to because I know it’s great stuff, but I can’t get used to it.  I have given B some of the natural deodorants that I have received and he’s said the same.  Maybe I just need to give it more time.

All totaled I came up with a value of $43.74 for the July 2015 Petit Vour box!  They put together such a great box and I loved this month!  This box had a value of more than 3x the cost which is amazing.  I don’t think I have ever been disappointed by Petit Vour and love what they come up with every month.

Is the de-odor cream more like an actual cream? I have had them to be a difficult to use hard paste and I just cant do that. Its too much hassel to stand there scrape this rough paste and get it everywhere. But a cream I can handle, I wouldnt mind that at all!

I just got mine and IMO it’s like a toothpaste consistency, but a bit creamier.

Thank you! Sounds easy enough to apply.

I’m not super looking forward to this month. I’m not a big nailpolish fan (although I like the color, so will hang on to this), I’m allergic to mango (sadly), and like you, can’t quite get behind deodorant with my fingers, thing. Hoping for the toner, as I seem to get more cleansers in boxes than toners! But, even though this box might not be a good fit for me, it’s still a good value, and I like being able to gift or pass along the samples I won’t use to my sister and my bestie. That’s part of the fun for me–if I won’t use it, thinking “ooo, who would love this?” and sending it along!

Oh I’m so excited for this to come in the mail! I was hoping the next box would have a polish in it 🙂

I wanted to like Petit Vour, however their business raises a red flag for me, and here’s why. They do not listen to their customer’s concerns regarding the billing cycle. I tried numerous times to ask them why they do not allow their customers to choose a different date during the month when payment is deducted from their bank account, and got no answer. They just cancelled my subscription service and wished me well. Not everyone has the same pay schedule where $15 can be deducted on the 1st of each month and not throw a budget off–billing cycles differ. When a company isn’t willing to push the deduction to another date during the month–and mind you I was willing to pay 1 month ahead of schedule if they could change the date each month to the 17th–it really makes you wonder why they won’t budge. For me its a matter of business ethics and principles and shows that the company cares more about themselves then their customer base. As a business owner myself, this worries me. Other subscription box services are the same way–so be wary of who you give your money to, especially if you go unheard with a concern…
