Allure Beauty Box August 2015 Subscription Box Review
Allure Beauty Box August 2015 Subscription Box

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and also include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.  July was the first month after the switch from “Allure Sample Society” to the “Allure Beauty Box”.  Honestly had I not previously known about the change I never would have noticed anything different about this box.

The Box

The Allure Beauty Box ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive.

I hadn’t gotten a chance to look at any spoilers for this one and was totally wowed by the first look!  It was packed!

The Information Card

The August 2015 Allure Beauty Box “Dreaming in Color” themed box included the following items:

~Malin+Goetz Peppermint Shampoo ($2.50): This stuff smells great!  It’s like Christmas in August.  LOL!  It also wipes away all the gunk and grime that get into your hair.  I am going to have to keep this away from B because I know he will love it too.

Malin+Goetz Peppermint Shampoo

~Nuance Salma Hayek AM/PM Anti-Aging Super Cream ($3.78): I have actually tried this before and while I liked it, it’s not a holy grail item for me.  It absorbs quickly and didn’t leave your skin feeling all greasy.  I will use it for traveling.

Nuance Salma Hayek AM/PM Anti-Aging Super Cream

~Bumble and Bumble Grooming Creme ($3): I put this in my hair immediately after I opened the box. It smoothed down the flyways and smelled fantastic.  The scent isn’t heavy, but there’s for sure something there. It reminded me of a salon smell.  In a good way.

~Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner ($1.71): Since I am not a huge fan of eyeliner I am not a huge fan of this. It won an Allure Breakthrough Award though so I know a lot of people will love it. I will admit, the click pen on it is cool.

Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner

~Voilet’s Revenge Nail Lacquer from Allure & Butter London Army Candy Collection ($7.50): I love nail polish and I love Butter London polishes, so this is fabulous.  I believe they sent out this in two shades – the either being a lighter pink, but this one is all me.

~Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Gel Cleanser ($5): This is a foaming cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin. Which is SO me.  For real. My skin is a mess and I am hoping this can help me out.  It’s smells like it’s going to work and a seems like it’s going to last forever since a little bit goes a long way.

All totaled I came up with a value of $23.49 for the August 2015 Allure Beauty Box.  Not a huge value, but I loved it. Everything was high-quality and from brands I either already love or am excited about trying out!

Did you get the August 2015 Allure Beauty Box?  What’d you think? If you are interested in ordering you can get signed up here! I believe the August box is still available so your first box will begin with this one!
