Beauty Box 5 August 2015 Subscription Box

Beauty Box 5 delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between!  Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription, however, I originally subscribed a while back when they had a crazy deal that brought the cost of an annual subscription down to $6.58/month.  But that year is over and to be honest, I don’t know how I am still getting this box? I keep forgetting to shoot them an e-mail, but seriously need to get it figured out!

First Look

This month’s Beauty Box 5 was much heavier than normal. Boxes are typically hit or isa, but I was hoping this would be a hit.

The Information Card

The August 2015 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Primped” and included the following items:

~Donnamax Printed Nail File with Case ($5 – Per Info Card): I love this. You don’t need a case for your nail file, but it might make it easier to find in your purse.  It will for sure make it look cuter.

~Starlooks Luxe Longwear Eyeliner Pen in Plum (Eggplant) ($19): This color is gorgeous and if I were into eyeliner I would LOVE this.  It’s waterproof and goes on very smoothly.

~Hask Beauty Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment (1.75oz) ($2.99): This has been in a few boxes before and I *think* it’s even appeared in Beauty Box 5 in the past?  It’s an awesome hair treatment though and takes only 10 minutes to do so it’s a welcome repeat.

~Jerome Alexander Hot Stuff Go Pop Compacts ($9.99): I love the case this came in and this it’s super cute.  It probably would be better suited for a younger girl to play around with.  WB actually took mine and “painted” his face with it.  It was so cute!  I do wish it was sealed though.  I am guessing that they took it out of whatever packaging it was to make it fit in the box, but I wish they would have mentioned that or somehow sealed it.

~Pur~lisse Pur Moist Hydra-Balance Moisturizer (0.5oz / 15mL) ($16.18): I like pur-lisse and have no issues with the product itself, however, it’s everywhere.  I understand that they want to get their product out there, but at this rate no one will never need to buy it because it’s always appearing in boxes.  All that said though, it is moisturizing and I have never had breakout issues with it.

All totaled I came up with a value of $53.16 for the August 2015 Beauty Box 5.  This box had a great value and wasn’t a miss for me, but it probably would have been a huge hit if I liked eyeliner and had never tried pur~lisse!

I kept the file and hair treatment, and the rest went in the trash. Again. I still think this subscription was one of the worst I ever signed up for, and I’ll never go for an annual anything again.
