Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for children from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. It’s $29/month, but the price decreases to $24.95 with a 6-month subscription. I receive a box for WB (boy) who is 3 and a box for a 5 year-old boy as well. This review is on the 3 year-old boy box.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and takes about a week to arrive. They ship on (or slightly before) the 15th of the month and I generally expect to receive my box by the 20th of the month.
I mentioned it in my review of the August box for a 5 year-old boy, but I was thrilled to see that my boxes were different this month. They have been the same lately and I was thinking about switching up the ages on them, but I am so glad I didn’t this month.
The August 2015 Citrus Lane box included the following items:
~Sardine Fishing Game from Janod (~$15): OMG I love this. It’s a high-quality wooden fishing game with the cutest little fish. WB loves “fishing”, but we haven’t been able to find any quality items like this until now. This is hours of fun right here. I couldn’t find it for sale in the states anywhere, which of course made me like it even more because this seems to be the only place to get it.
ETA: Update from Citrus Lane: Citrus Lane sent out an e-mail on 8.21.15 stating that subscribers who received this item in their August box should discontinue use. The worm on the end of the fishing pole may break off and could be considered a choking hazard. They are working Janod on a solution for this and will update as soon as that become available.
~36 Piece Puzzle from Petit Collage (~$20): This actually isn’t for sale here in the States yet either! Well, if it is I can’t find it. WB loves dinosaurs and loves doing puzzle so this is a win for us.
~Sandwich Bag from Bumkins ($4.99): This was our customization option this month and I actually thought I had selected the Batman bag for both boxes, but I guess not? Or maybe I forgot to make a selection on one of my boxes. Like I said in my other review, these are great for the car or for trips to the park.
~Sunscreen from Babyganics ($0.55): This is a tiny little sunscreen sample, but it will come in handy that’s for sure. We go through lots of sunscreen and I am always ordering / buying more.
~Subscriber Discount from Gathered Table: Gathered Table is a service that sends customized weekly meal plans, grocery lists, and optional grocery delivery. Like I mentioned in my other review this month, the offer included is for 40% off an annual subscription, but I doubt I will use it.
All totaled I came up with an (estimated) value of $40.54 for the August 2015 3 year-old boy Citrus Lane box. I am super happy with Citrus Lane this month. Lots of fresh and new items and there were a few things in here which aren’t available anywhere. I love subscription boxes because they do introduce you to new things and save you money at the same time and this box did just that.
