Citrus Lane has been offering Mystery Boxes on a somewhat regular basis lately and I decided to pick one up during the last sale. The Mystery Box I selected was $39 (plus $5.95 S/H) and included a John Deere Real Sounds Lawnmower from TOMY. I can’t remember the exact age group the box was recommended for, but I am guessing it was 2+.
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively! And every once in a while they also offer Mystery Boxes in their shop. Mystery Boxes range from $19 or $39 and promise to contain products worth double the cost of the box. Items are typically repeats from their monthly boxes, but they are always a great deal.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and a week to arrive. I ordered this on the 23rd of July and it arrived on August 1st so it wasn’t too bad at all.
The box everything was shipped in was HUGE. When it arrived I couldn’t remember why it was so big, but when I opened it up it all came back to me. Mystery boxes don’t include information cards, but the box features the following items:
~Match Stacks (Transportation) from Tree Hopper Toys ($19.99): We actually have this set (I expect to receive duplicates in CL Mystery Boxes so it’s not a surprise we already have them), but they are awesome and will make a fantastic gift. They are printed wooden discs with pictures of different vehicles on them. You can use them to practice stacking and when your little one is ready you can play a matching game with them. WB is getting better at matching, but he still needs some practice!
~John Deere Real Sounds Lawnmower from TOMY ($27.21): This is probably a little “young” for WB, but he loves the old bubble mower we have so I knew he’d like this. And he does. He’s obsessed with it actually. It “talks” and remind kids to check the gas and oil and makes other fun lawn mower sounds.
~Space Song Rocket Ride by Barefoot Books ($9.99): We actually don’t have this yet, but it’s really cute and both boys will enjoy it.
~Crocodile Creek 5″ Playground Ball ($7.99): We love these playground balls! They last forever and no matter how rough the boys are with them, they do not pop. And trust me, the boys have tried to pop them. They do fade in the sun though (although I guessing that is to be expected), so if you don’t want it to fade, don’t leave it outside.
~Ouchies Adhesive Bandages ($5): Again, these are very useful and always can be used around here. The boys need bandages for everything and we do through a ton of them.
All totaled this Citrus Lane Mystery Box had a value of $70.18. I used current (online) prices and not retail prices which Citrus Lane uses in the $80+ valuation. I am thrilled with this box and just love their Mystery Boxes! They don’t have any available right now, but I will post as soon as they are available again.
