Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for children from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. It’s $29/month, but the price decreases to $24.95 with a 6-month subscription. I receive a box for WB (boy) who is 3 and a box for a 5 year-old boy as well. This review is on the 3 year-old boy box.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and takes about a week to arrive. They ship on (or slightly before) the 15th of the month and I generally expect to receive my box by the 20th of the month.
I had peeked at a few September Citrus Lane boxes so I pretty much knew what to expect from this one.
The September 2015 Citrus Lane box included the following back-to-school items covering all of the subjects:
~Hand Drum from Hohner ($13): WB has been banging on this since we opened up the box this afternoon. It’s not as loud (i.e. annoying) as some musical instruments we have, but it does make noise. I like it though. And so does WB.
~Baking Kit from Sassafras ($14.95): This was the item we selected for our box this month. The choices were either this Pizza Baking Kit or a Family Pets from Hape (similar to this one but without the bunny). We already have the HAPE animals for our dollhouse, so we picked the Baking Kit. I believe the “girl” option was either the HAPE animals or the Pastel Cookie Kit. I wish they’d let you pick from “girl” or “boy” items when making your selections. We had the same options for the 5 year-old boy box we get and I so would have picked a Baking Kit for one and this Pizza Kit for the other. But anyway, I love this. Both of my boys love to help bake and these tools are a great size for them. And honestly, I will grab kids baking tools every once in a while myself. Sometimes the smaller size just works better.
~Thesaurus Rex from Barefoot Books ($6.99): Citrus Lane sends out super cute books. This is an easy read for L, who will be more than happy to read it to WB. WB already looked at all the pictures in it and made up his own story for it.
~Mashup Pouches from Plum Organics (~$3): There’s no way I will be able to talk WB into eating these, but L will. WB used to be a huge fan of pouches, but he must have gotten worn out on them because he won’t touch them anymore.
~Donation Bag from Schoola: Schoola resells your old clothes to help fund schools. I personally haven’t sent anything in to them, but I going to do a little browsing tonight because the box also included a 30% off discount code. New customers can use my link to get $15 off their first purchase.
All totaled I came up with a value of $37.94 for the September 2015 Citrus Lane. I thought the value was great this month and I was quite happy with the contents of it. We don’t have any of these items and, as far as I know, they haven’t been in any past Citrus Lane boxes which makes me happy!
