LinenCrate is a subscription based membership that allows you to receive a box of home linens valued at $150+. Each month features a different room in your house, beginning with the Bathroom/Powder Room (all subscribers will receive the Powder Room box as their first box regardless of when they subscribe). The Bathroom Box includes 6-9 Linens and Accessories curated for your bathroom based on your color/style preferences. This is my second month receiving a LinenCrate box so I received The Dining Room box this month.
LinenCrate ships via FedEx and was beyond heavy this month. WB wanted to carry it in the house, but there was just no way.
I thought the personalization on here was cute! I actually cannot recall if I filled out preferences for this one, but perhaps I did? They did a good job with the Powder Room box for me, so I was hopefully I would get a fabulous Dining Room Box too.
My August 2015 Dining Room LinenCrate included the following items:
~Q-Squared Talavera Collection Dinner Plates ($12/each) ($72): When I opened up the box I thought these plates were ceramic. I was thinking that LinenCrate was basically crazy for sending out breakable plates, but as I was unwrapping them I realized that they were melamine. They are a very heavy melamine and really do look like fine china! I love the pattens on these and think we will get a ton of use out of them. I also like that they included a set of 6 and not just a set of 4!
~Essex Collection Salad Plates ($10/each) ($60): Linen Crate actually called these Appetizer Plates ($9/plate) on the information card, but they are actually the more expensive salad plates ($10/plate). I am not sure I think these “go” with the other plates, but they are very fun! Again they are made from a heavy melamine and are quite stylish.
~Dainty Home Placemats ($15.08): These placemats are the only item I am not sure about in this box. They just aren’t us. I know some people keep their tables set and perfect all the time, but that is just not happening around here. Maybe I will use them for holidays or will put under bowls / platters for serving.
I am still on the fence about the entire look pulled today. I am just assuming it’s all supposed to go together anyway? Maybe I just need to wait for the placemats to “fluff up” a little more? I do love the red ad the gold together and I really like the mixing of patterns.
~Torres Tagus Stainless Steel Leaf Platter ($55): I can’t find this for sale anywhere online right now, but from the looks of it, it was available awhile back on Gilt.com for $49. It’s a really pretty platter and will be nice for holiday parties.
All totaled I came up with a value of $202.08 for the August 2015 “Dining Room” LinenCrate. I didn’t really expect to get plates in the Dining Room box (I thought it would be more accessories), but I actually really like the plates. We have nothing like these and will be able to get a ton of use out of them. I am now super curious to see what everyone else gets in their Dining Room LinenCrate boxes!

I like this box a lot better than the bathroom one. I love the colors the only drawback is plastic plates. I really like the placemats though and platter.
I received my box yesterday as well I received the same smaller plates but my larger plates were square with a blue an gold design, my placemats were silver. I only received 4 of each piece as that was what I had stated for a serving set. I am not sure that I like the look put together also were are the linen’s that was the original idea behind this box? No cloth napkins at least.
I like the red plates for casual. This isn’t what I envisioned for a dinning room linen box.
