LinenCrate September 2015 “Kitchen” Subscription Box

LinenCrate is a subscription based membership that allows you to receive a box of home linens valued at $150+. Each month features a different room in your house, beginning with the Bathroom/Powder Room (all subscribers will receive the Powder Room box as their first box regardless of when they subscribe).  This is my third month receiving a LinenCrate box, so I received the September featured box, which is “Kitchen”.  As I mentioned, subscriptions begin with the Bathroom / Powder Room box and then will continue on to that month’s “featured” box.  It’s all explained in the FAQ, but I wanted to mention it here too.  The box schedule for 2015 is”: Sept 2015 = Kitchen, October 2015 = Living Room , November 2015 = Bedroom and December 2015 = Powder Room. And for 2016: January 2016 = Dinning Room, Feb 2016 = Kitchen , March 2016 = Living Room , April 2016 = Bedroom , May 2016 = Powder Room, June 2016 = Dining Room , July 2016 = Kitchen, August 2016 = Living Room, September 2016 = Bedroom, October 2016 = Powder Room, November 2016 = Dining Room, December 2016 = Kitchen.  If you order today you will receive the Powder Room box this month and will then receive the “Living Room” box in October 2015.

First Look

I had been excited about the Kitchen box to see what goodies they’d pick and the first look was awesome! I immediately saw those serving pieces and was thrilled. LinenCrate is $109/month plus $4.99 shipping, but their boxes are SO heavy.  Shipping must actually cost them a fortune.

The Information Card

My September 2015 LinenCrate included the following items:

~Torre & Tagus Axis Stainless Steel Double Wall Bowl ($75): Torre and Tagus is a Canadian company and I wasn’t able to find any places selling this bowl. From what I did see with similar pieces, prices were in line with those that were on the information card.  Anyway, I.love.this bowl.  Like I LOVE it. It’s not very deep, but it’s wide and would make an excellent fruit bowl.  At least that’s what I am planning on going with mine.  It’s so pretty that I want it displayed all the time.

~Torre & Tagus Discus Stainless Steel Chip & Dip Platter ($37): Much to my surprise, I found this piece being sold at Target (online only).  I guess that made it seem a little “less exclusive”, but I am also thrilled I found a place where I can easily pick up a few more pieces.  This platter is also fairly shallow so I almost think it would be a better fruit and cheese or crackers and cheese plate than a chip & dip platter.  It just seems like the chips would slide all over the place in here. But regardless, I love it!  I may break it out for the big game tomorrow night!

~Core Home Acacia Bark-Edge Round Board ($55): LinenCrate revealed this as one of their September Kitchen Box spoiler items and I instantly loved it. It has a 12’inch diameter, so it’s fairly large in size and it’s just really cool.  I think this will be a great piece for B’s basement bar!

~Now Designs Apron, Mitten & Pot Holder Set ($40):  This is a fun, unisex pattern and includes an oven mitt, a pot holder and an apron.  I don’t know about you, but we can always use new oven mitts and pot holders.  They get so grubby.  So while these aren’t the most exciting items in the box for me, we will get a ton of use out of them!

All totaled my September 2015 Kitchen LinenCrate had a value of $207.  LinenCrate got off to a bit of a bumpy start with some of their boxes, but I have been loving their picks lately.  These pieces were very me and will be very useful to us.  I absolutely cannot wait to see what they do with the Living Room box next month. I hope they release a spoiler on it soon!

I would get an oven mit/pot holder subscription for my mom. For some reason, my nieces all like to play with them but they never put them away. I’m pretty sure they’ve lost at least 2 dozen pot holders. I’m assuming they took them home with them and lost them, but they moved back in with my parents and they’re still M.I.A.
