Birchbox Man is $20/month and sends you monthly deliveries of deluxe grooming and lifestyle samples, tailored to your profile. With Birchbox Man you can try cult brands, up-and-coming lines, and everything in between.
Birchbox Man USPS (through Newgistics) and generally arrives during the first few days of the month. This month’s came SUPER early though. I was shocked when I got the shipping notification on it last week.
We opted for the “regular” box this month instead of the curated “Fresh Faced” box. The Fresh Faced box included: Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic, (MALIN+GOETZ) grapefruit face cleanser, Izola Soap Dish, Clinique for Men Face Scrub and DTRT Face to Face Foam Cleanser. This box would replace your regular monthly Birchbox Man box if you selected it.
Lifestyle choices this month were Glove.ly Touchscreen Gloves ($20), Coalatree Nomad Backpack ($29.99) or Tretorn Men’s Crew Socks 2-Pack ($12). I am always so jealous of the Birchbox Man Lifestyle Options. I would love it with Birchbox did the same for their Women’s boxes.
I had peeked at this box when they did the reveals this month, but B has yet to see it. He’s so good about not peeking or being spoiled. I don’t know how he does it.
The information card this month (and going forward?) is totally digital and can be found in your account online. I am a bit sad about this because I always love the information cards in boxes!
The October 2015 Birchbox Man theme was “Peak Performance” and included the following items:
~Glove.ly Touchscreen Gloves ($20): Touchscreen gloves are the best – if they work anyway. These deemed to work fairly well, but the real test will come this winter when B is wearing them everyday and it’s actually freezing cold out. They are great looking gloves too. Very stylish.
~Helmut Lang Cuiron (1.5mL) ($2.48): This scent is $165 per bottle, so after this is done we will never see this again in this house. LOL! It’s a woodsy / musky scent and does smell quite fantastic though.
~CW BEGGS AND SONS Shower, Shampoo and Shave (30mL / 1fl.oz) ($2.40): This is a shower gel, shampoo and shave gel in one. B loves items like this for traveling, but not really for everyday use. This one smells nice and probably could have been useful for B’s trip this week.
~Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic (No Size Listed) (~$3.50): This face tonic pretty much does it all. I was so intrigued by it that I tested it out myself. It firms and cleanses skin as it soothes irritation and regulates oil production. I love that it’s a spray so it’s so easy to use. I was very impressed by it and hopefully B will be too.
~Clinique for Men Face Scrub (0.5fl.oz / 15mL) ($3.15): I used to use Clinique on a regular basis, but I think B has only tried one or two of their items. If your man is just starting out with a new skin care regime, I don’t think you can go wrong with Clinique.
All totaled I came up with a value of $31.53 for the October 2015 Birchbox Man box. Including the points for purchasing the box (20 points = $2) and the points for reviewing the products / sharing on Facebook (60 points = $6), the real value of this box is $39.53. As usual, the lifestyle item alone was worth the cost of the box and I just consider everything else a bonus!
