My Pretend Place is a quarterly Dress Up Play subscription box for children aged 3-6. Each box includes dress-up costumes, activities or crafts, and other pretend play inspiration. They also offer a monthly Craft Subscription Box ($15/month) which is designed for children 3-8 years of age. It includes materials and instructions they need to create a new pretend play item each month.
The My Pretend Place Dress Up subscription ships on a quarterly basis via USPS.
I had gotten a heads up on the theme, but I didn’t do any research to see exactly what the contents of the box would include. I was super impressed when I opened this one up.
The October 2015 My Pretend Place (Neutral) theme was “Chef” (it was “Cowgirl” for Girls and “Cowboy” for Boys subscriptions ) and included the following:
~Melissa & Doug Chef Role Play Set ($29.99): For the most part My Pretend Place sends out Melissa & Doug dress-up sets. This isn’t always the case, but more often than not they do. They are always high quality and super cute. WB hasn’t been feeling well, but he still insisted on putting this on the minute we received it.
~Melissa & Doug Felt Food – Pizza ($19.99): Eeek, I love this! It’s a felt food pizza set and included just about every pizza topping you could imagine. Your little ones can create tons of different pizza options and serve them to their customers.
~Melissa & Doug Make-a-Meal Sticker Set ($4.99): This is a smart idea! And a fun one too. I love the idea of using this to help your little ones help in the meal planning process. They can use these to learn what makes a balanced meal and plan meals they will actually eat!
~The Donut Chef ($7.99): Very cute book. I won’t spoil it (LOL), but it’s got a fun story line and great pictures.
All totaled I came up with a value of $62.96 for the October 2015 “Chef” My Pretend Place Dress-Up Box. We loved this month’s shipment. I thought the costume was great and the accessories were perfectly selected to match. And we will for real be using the tools that came along with the chef’s jacket in the kitchen.
