October 2015 Linen Crate Review - The Living Room Box
October 2015 Linen Crate – The Living Room Box

LinenCrate is a membership based club that allows you to receive Home Linens, Decor and accessories monthly and the products are yours to keep! Each month features a different room in your house, beginning with the Bathroom/Powder Room (all subscribers will receive the Powder Room box as their first box regardless of when they subscribe).  As I mentioned, subscriptions begin with the Bathroom / Powder Room box and then will continue on to that month’s “featured” box.  It’s all explained in the FAQ, but I wanted to mention it here too.  The box schedule for 2015 is: October 2015 = Living Room , November 2015 = Bedroom and December 2015 = Powder Room. And for 2016: January 2016 = Dinning Room, Feb 2016 = Kitchen , March 2016 = Living Room , April 2016 = Bedroom , May 2016 = Powder Room, June 2016 = Dining Room , July 2016 = Kitchen, August 2016 = Living Room, September 2016 = Bedroom, October 2016 = Powder Room, November 2016 = Dining Room, December 2016 = Kitchen.  If you order today you will receive the Powder Room box this month and will then receive the “Dining Room” box in November 2015.

I also want to mention that LinenCrate is under new ownership and has changed a few things.  They now offers two box options, which can only bone purchased monthly.  Subscribers can choose between the Prime Decor Box $109 (plus $5.99 shipping) which includes 3-6 items (I received this box to review) or the Elite Decor Box $75 (plus $5.99 box) which includes 2-3 items. In addition, they have removed the style profile builder from the sign up process and moving forward the box they will be focusing on Modern / Contemporary styles.

The Box

LinenCrate boxes are shipped around the 25th of the month. I received mine early for review purposes.

First Look
Second First Look

I wasn’t too sure what to make of the first look.  It was a little out there for my taste, but I was willing to give it a chance.

The Information Card

My October LinenCrate “Dining Room” box included the following items:

~Shiraleah Bali Pillow (+ Insert) ($60): So my feelings on this pillow are mixed.  Sometimes I look at it and I love it.  Sometimes I look at it and think no way.  B calls it the “minecraft pillow”.  LOL! It’s 100% cotton, but it’s got a metallic look / texture to it.  It’s definitely a decorative pillow and not one that you’d snuggle up with.  And probably not one I would pay $60 for on my own, but I will make it work somehow.

Pillow

~Shiraleah Agate Coasters ($68): I love these!  They are formed from agate stones and are so gorgeous.  Because they are from natural stones no two are alike.  I’d be a little worried about putting these on a glass table, but I don’t have a glass table so I don’t have to worry.

~Torre & Tagus Hammered Metal Vase ($48.55): This is another piece I am just not sure about.  It’s cool, but I don’t know that it’s “me” or my house.  I can totally see myself looking at this and admiring it elsewhere and I love the hammered detail, but I don’t know where I will put this.

Talis Hammered Metal Vase

All totaled I came up with a value of about $170 for the October 2015 “Living Room” LinenCrate.  The value was there, but I wasn’t loving all of the items this month. They were just a bit too modern for me personally, but I know some people would feel otherwise.

What do you think of LinenCrate?  If you are interested in subscribing you can sign up here using coupon code “RAM40″ to save $40 on a Prime Decor Box! Don’t forget, all subscriptions (regardless when you sign up) will begin with the Powder Room box.
