Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also now do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

Stitch Fix shipped via USPS took just a few days to arrive.

Stitch Fix is always wrapped neatly and I’ve never had an issue with the return bag, quality of the items, etc.

Lots of reds this month!

Each Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $326.  If you keep one or two items it’s the price listed minus your $20 styling fee.  If you keep everything, you take 25% off the total and then deduct the $20 styling fee. Here are the pieces I received:

~41Hawthorn Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater ($68): I don’t know why, but this reminds me of Harry Potter.  I don’t think anyone in Harry Potter ever wore a sweater like this, but that’s immediately what I thought of when I saw this.  I like the material, shape and cut of this sweater, but I can’t get into the yellow stripes. Verdict: Returned.

~Pixley Martina Slub Knit Open Cardigan ($48): This is a nice thin fall cardigan.  The color is fabulous, but I am not totally sure about the draping on the bottom.  I like it everywhere else, but I’m not really loving how it kind of folds up into pockets on the bottom.  But I do love the color and the price is great.  Verdict: Undecided.

~Skies are Blue Cate Knit Top ($54): Love this one!  It’s such a great pop of color to my normally all black wardrobe.  Even if I pair it with black pants and a card cardigan, it will still show lots of red.  The necklace is also perfect for me! Verdict: Kept.

~Mavi Freida Skinny Jean ($98): These jeans are super stretchy – maybe even too stretchy?  There’s something about them that I don’t love and it’s possible it’s the stretchiness. Verdict: Returned.

~Loveappella Malbec Elbow Patch Knit Top ($58): I am obsessed with the elbow patches on this one!  I don’t know that I “need” this top, but I might need it if only for those amazing elbow patches. It’s a cozy and comfortable, which I also love. Verdict: Kept (I think)

My October 2015 Stitch Fix wasn’t a total hit, but sometimes that’s a good thing. I don’t always want to end up buying the entire box and it’s a lot easier when you don’t love everything.  I have always said that if I keep at least one of the items in the box so I don’t lose my $20 styling fee, I am happy.
