The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and also include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure. July was the first month after the switch from “Allure Sample Society” to the “Allure Beauty Box”. Honestly had I not previously known about the change I never would have noticed anything different about this box. I would have just thought it was getting better.
The Allure Beauty Box ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive. I think they ship in batches because I know that some people’s boxes have yet to ship.
Awesome first look! The box was packed full!
The November 2015 Allure Beauty Box theme was “The Glam Life” and included the following:
~Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick (Berryish) (.09oz / 2.5g) (~$12): Allure released this as their first spoiler for the month. Ten different shades were sent out and I received a great deep pink. It’s super glossy and shiny, but not sticky at all! My brush was a little hard at first, but it softened up after I used it a few times.
~L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil (4mL / 0.1fl.oz) ($10.60): I have been testing lots of serums and oils lately and have found that I prefer serums. Oils just don’t do it for my face and seem to dry my skin out (I realize this makes no sense). But the information card says that if you have been a holdout to oils this might be the one for you. I am going to try it until the bottle runs out and then decide.
~Klorane Floral Eye Make-Up Remover Lotion (25mL) ($2.50): I don’t wear a ton of eye make-up, so I will likely end up passing this on to a friend. I do like the brand though and thought the scent was nice.
~Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena and Lavender de Provence Bath & Shower Gel (50mL) ($6): I feel like we don’t get enough shower gels in subscription boxes so I am always happy to see one in a box. This smells great – it’s a nice mix of lemon and floral and left my entire shower smelling awesome.
~Hanae by Hanae Mori (1.2mL / .04fl.oz) ($2.21): Oh my goodness I love this! It’s fruity and sweet, but sandalwood and patchouli tone it down a notch. It smelled a little old lady’ish at first, but was much better on my skin than in the air. I may put this one on my list for Santa.
~Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Oil-Free Volumiser (40mL) ($10.99): This serum boosts volume without weighing down your hair. It smells awesome, but is super sticky. They also note in the information card that you want to apply this to damp hair and then blow-dry. Allure notes that it has a tendency to weigh down your hair when you air dry it.
All totaled I came up with a value of $44.30 for the November 2015 Allure Beauty Box. I thought this box was a great value and I thought that the variety it included was amazing. It had almost a product from every category (perfume, hair, skincare, bath / body and make-up) which I loved!
