Macy's The Spotlight November 2015 Subscription Box Review
Macy’s The Spotlight November 2015 Subscription Box

The Spotlight is a brand new subscription box from Macy’s. It’s $9.99/month and will include one full-size product along with an assortment of beauty and fragrance samples.  I signed up for the waitlist on this one AS SOON as I heard about it, but haven’t gotten off the list yet.  Happily the folks at Macy’s asked if I’d like to review a box and I jumped at the chance.

The Box

The Spotlight is super new still so I don’t know that they have a set shipping schedule.  My box arrived via USPS and shipped from San Francisco, CA.

First Look

Eeek!  You have no idea how excited I was to open this up.

Second First Look

I was absolutely shocked to find a cosmetic bag in the box!

Out of the Bag

The first look was amazing!  Absolutely amazing!

The Card

Macy’s The Spotlight didn’t have a detailed information card, but I was so geeked for this box I didn’t even care.  The November 2015 The Spotlight included the following items:

~The Bag: Not only did this box include a make-up bag, it included a gorgeous generously sized make-up bag.  I was blown away!  It’s Macy’s branded and has a black interior lining.

The Bag

~Benefit they’re Real Mascara (3g / 0.1oz) ($12): I have tried this mascara in the past and I really liked it.  I don’t know that Benefit makes anything I don’t like?  It lengthens like crazy and doesn’t get all gross and clumpy. It also dries fast!

~bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash (30mL / 1oz) ($3.65): I actually purchase this and use this all the time!  It’s a 2-in-1 cleanser and exfoliator, but it’s gentle enough for everyday use. I have been using it (on and off, but mainly on) for a few months now and I am really happy with it.

~Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Perfume (1.5mL  0.05fl.oz) ($0.68): Flowerbomb, as you may have guessed, is a floral scent.  It has notes of Bergamot, Tea, Osmanthus, Jasmine, African Orange Flower, Freesia, Orchid, Rose, Musk and Patchouli.  It’s been around for a while and somehow I have never purchased a full sized bottle of it.  It’s absolutely gorgeous though.

~Anatasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss (Vintage) (4.5g/0.16oz) ($16): I am not sure how many different shades were sent out, but I received “Vintage” which is a soft rose color.  It’s super glossy and not sticky at all.

Anatasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss

~Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme (.17oz / 5mL) ($8.50): This cream dramatically reduces the look of multiple signs of aging: lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness, dullness, dehydration.  I have another sample of this so I am going to use them one right after another and hopefully I’ll see some amazing results!  I am focusing on skincare again can’t get enough of these anti-aging creams.

~Philosophy Loveswept Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel (30mL / 1oz) ($1.56): I tend to go for the foodie Philosophy scents over their floral scents so I don’t love this as much as a lot of others would.  Still I will use every single drop because it does smell good in the shower.

Philosophy Loveswept Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel

~Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick (Matte Bad Blood) (~$7.33): It looks like this lipstick comes in eight different shades and I received Matte Bad Blood, which is a matte deep red.  For someone who doesn’t even wear lipstick, this is just too much for me.  At least I think so!

All totaled I came up with a value of nearly $50 for the November 2015 Macy’s The Spotlight box.  That doesn’t even include the value of the bag either!  I was completely blown away by this and I so hope I can get off the waiting list and continue to get these boxes monthly!  They included fantastic brands and the samples were generously sized which made it super impressive box. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this one!
