Powered Geek Box October 2015 Subscription Box Review
Powered Geek Box October 2015 Subscription Box

Powered Geek Box (formerly known as PowerUp Box) is a monthly subscription service that includes geeky, gamer, and pop culture gear. The Powered Geek Box team goes around the country searching for the best gear there is to assure an epic box every month, every time. The Premium Box ($39.90/month) includes 6-9 items, while the Deluxe Box ($26.90/month) includes 4-6 items and both boxes will include a t-shirt every month.

The Box

Powered Geek Box boxes are shipped between the 22nd and 28th of each month.

First Look

I didn’t love last month’s box, but this one looked great!  The box doesn’t include an information card, but the October 2015 Premium Powered Geek Box contained the following:

~Star Wars T-Shirt: This is an officially licensed Star Wars t-shirt.  It’s made out of a thin soft cotton and has a retro look to it.  My brother loves Star Wars so I am going to give this shirt to him!

~Build Your Own Zombie ($5): This is SO cool!  I so badly wanted to open it and play with it (and build a zombie), but this would make a perfect stocking stuffer for L.  He’s going to love this!

~Beer’d Bottle Opener ($6.95): This cracked me up.  B likes to grow his beard in between National Guard weekends (thank goodness for the NG) so this will be a great addition for the bar area.

~Zombie Heat Change Mug ($8.99): I suspect L and I are going to be fighting over this one.  The zombies start to chase you when you have hot liquid in the mug. I’m easily amused and this kind of stuff cracks me up.

~Tattoo Pens: Well, I have been wanting another tattoo!  I am actually going to let the kids play with these too.  They will be a fun pre-bath toy.

~Game of Thrones Oversized Funko POP – Viserion ($14,95): I am not sure why this didn’t come in the box, but I was kind of surprised to see this guy running loose in the box. If you were planning on collecting it and saving in the box, I could see being annoyed by this.  But I would have opened it anyway so it’s not a big deal.  I don’t watch Game of Thrones (I know, I know, but I just couldn’t get into it), but B does and this is the kind of thing L and WB get a kick out of.

~Candy: The box also included an assortment of candy and treats.  WB eyed the “spooky” sucker right away.  Yes, he thinks that’s spooky!

I didn’t have prices for everything for the October 2015 Powered Geek Box so I couldn’t do a full cost breakdown. I enjoyed this box far more than last month and I kind of like that they don’t do a theme.  I like the mixture of items because it generally includes a little something for all of us in the house.
