War Foodie is the first subscription box that caters to military and expat communities. You pick the categories of foods you want (each category is $7) and they we send you something different every month within that category. Categories include coffee, custom blend tea, hot sauce (military-grade), premium beef jerky, peanut butter, bbq sauce and homestyle granola. Products included will be ones that cannot be located overseas.

I like that you get to pick your items with War Foodie.  This way you will only get items you know you will love.  Or items you know your recipient with love.  Although, if you are sending this to a base overseas, I am certain none of it would go to waste.  I received the following in my November 2015 War Foodie Box:

~Tea – Ginger N Spice (3.5oz): Each month War Foodie gets custom herbal loose leaf blends made for their boxes.  This month’s selection was “Ginger N Spice”  It seems fitting for the holidays and, according to my math, that’s enough tea for the entire month.

~Coffee – Guatemala Santa Isabel ($8): War Foodie sources their coffee from local coffee roasters that provide specialty grade single origin beans.  Varieties change, but they promise you will always receive suburb quality coffee.  They recommend that you opt for the whole bean coffee, but noted that if you select the ground option they will grind it just before shipping to make sure it stays as fresh as possible.

~Granola – Nutty November: Nutty November has almonds and macadamia nuts in it.  I actually had to hide it for a while because it’s SO addicting.  It’s awesome.

~Peanut Butter: Can you ever go wrong with peanut butter? No, I think not.  It makes everything better. I have rarely met a peanut butter I didn’t like, so this was great.

~Hot Sauce – Scorpion: I am not a fan of hot sauce, but then again I am not eating MRE’s (which often do include a bottle of hot sauce) or Mess Hall food everyday either.  B tells me hot sauce is HUGE and a very sought after item when you are deployed so I will take his word on that.

As pictured my November War Foodie totaled $35 plus $15 shipping.  That works out to be $10 per item which isn’t too crazy.  It’s a convenience subscription and a nice treat for someone serving overseas.
