The Information Card

The December 2015 For the Faithful included the following items:

~Angels Sing DVD ($7.27): From Amazon: “As a child Michael wished every day was Christmas – until a tragic accident crushed his holiday spirit. Thirty years later, Michael still can’t muster any joy for Christmas, despite encouragement from his wife and parents. But when his son faces a tragedy, Michael needs to make amends with his past. A mysterious man named Nick gives him the courage to find the Christmas joy that he lost.” I thought I’d watched every Christmas movie there was, but I haven’t seen this one!  At least night yet.  We pretty much lay low on Christmas Day, so I am thinking maybe we can pop this on tonight?

~A Classic Christmas Caroling Songbook ($0.79): This book features 30 Christmas favorites from The Christian Life Hymnal.  It’s pocket sized, but not teeny tiny and the lyrics are easily readable.

~A Taste of Christmas Fruitcake Cookbook ($4.99): This has recipes for more than just fruitcake (it’s actually just has a few fruitcake recipes), but I am seriously considering making a fruitcake, just to see.  I couldn’t tell you the last time I ate fruitcake and maybe I actually like it?  The book also contains inspiration for celebrating the real meaning of Christmas.

~He Loves Me Magnet ($1.25): You can pop this magnet on your fridge and so you can see this message every day.

~Holiday Classics CD ($0.99): I can’t believe this CD is only $1. I actually haven’t purchased a CD in ages and don’t have a CD player in my house (my car may have one though) so I will be giving this to a friend.  It’s got a ton of classic Christmas songs on it including We Wish You A Merry Christmas, O Come All Ye Faithful, Jingle Bells and more!

All totaled I came up with a value of $15.29 for the December 2015 For the Faithful.  I used current online prices – not retail prices which would have been much higher.  It’s less than the cost of the box, but perhaps had I calculated this a week ago (before Christmas items started to get discounted) the results would have been different?
