GlobeIn Benefit Basket ($19.95/month) is a monthly subscription box featuring one handcrafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan to give them global reach. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by their editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures. The GlobeIn Benefit Basket is a mini version of the popular GlobeIn Artisan Box ($35/month).
GlobeIn ships via USPS. Boxes ship on the 15th of the month (I received mine early for review purposes). Orders placed after the 15th of the calendar month will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month. If boxes sell out before the 15th your subscription will begin the following month.
GlobeIn will generally release full spoilers in advance of the box so you normally know what to expect from the Benefit Basket.
The December 2015 GlobeIn Benefit Basket theme was “Celebrate” and included the following items:
~Hand-dyed Batik Table Runner by Della ($35): This table runner is hand dyed so, like I mentioned in my other first review, every one will be different. I actually wish that they did these in a few different colors, but I believe that they are all these mint green color. The table runner is a heavy cotton material and has an amazing pattern.
~GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico ($12): GlobeIn switched to an all different square basket (without a lid) last month, but they are back to their regular basket this month. I did notice that this basket was smaller than the one I received in my GlobeIn (full-size) box. I don’t recall that ever being the case in the past so I wanted to point it out.
All totaled I came up with a value of $47 for the Demember 2015 GlobeIn Benefit Basket. I think I mention it every month, but I would love to see then switch up the basket itself for another artisan item relating to that month’s theme.
