The GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring GlobeIn‘s favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by their editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures.
GlobeIn ships via USPS. Boxes ship on the 15th of the month (I received mine early for review purposes). Orders placed after the 15th of the calendar month will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month. If boxes sell out before the 15th your subscription will begin the following month.
GlobeIn released full spoilers on this box so I knew exactly what was coming in here. Well, not exactly because there were a few variations.
The December 2015 GlobeIn Artisan Box theme was “Celebrate” and included the following items:
~Beaded Necklace by Tribe Alive ($42): Tribe Alive is an ethical fashion company. To complete this order for GlobeIn, they commissioned twenty female artisans in Santa Ana, Honduras. For them this job meant three full weeks of wages which is equal to sever months of living expenses. I love this necklace and think it might be my favorite piece in this box.
~Hand-dyed Batik Table Runner by Della ($35): This table runner is hand-dryed so every one is going to be slightly different (which I think is so cool). My table is a weird size (probably because it has two leafs in it) so this won’t fit on it right now. I will find something to do with it though!
~Set of Two Upcycled Greeting Cards from Malawi ($8): These cards are made out of recycled, handmade paper and repurposed African textiles whose vibrant colors represent the fierceness of spirit required to kindle new hope out of the rubble of displacement and poverty. I think these are just gorgeous and seem like you are sending a gift in the mail – not just a card. Gorgeous.
~Organic Dark Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt from Equal Exchange ($3.75): I don’t even know what to say. This is amazing. Caramel, dark chocolate and sea salt. Incredible!
~GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico ($12): GlobeIn switched to an all different square basket (without a lid) last month, but they are back to their regular basket this month.
All totaled the December 2015 GlobeIn Artisan Box had a value of $100.75. I was impressed with the value of this box and, as always, I was impressed with the quality of the items!
