The Information Card

The December 2015 Hole in Wall box featured the following items which were locally sourced from small businesses that embody the spirit of San Diego:

~Oats + Honey Facial Soap Bar (~$7): You could probably guess what this soap was without me telling you.  I love when you can see the “ingredients” peeking out of soap!

~Nibble 72% Cocoa Dark Chocolate ($6): I love Hershey kisses just as much as the next person, but when you are craving chocolate and don’t want to end up eating 20 kisses. you need chocolate like this.   It’s so rich and satisfying that you really do only need a square.

~Sinsa Korean BBQ Beef Jerky ($6.99): I am not a big fan of Korean beef, but B likes it.  And he likes (okay loves) beef jerky so this was great for him.  The jerky is made in San Diego and contains no nitrates, no hormones, no antibiotics and is gluten-free.

~Oaked Chipotle Hot Sauce ($8.99): We have yet to try this hot sauce and it will probably end up being something B gives to one of the guys he works with.  He likes hot sauce well enough, but he just doesn’t consume it often enough to keep every bottle he receives.  One warning (and it even says it on the card), this sauce is HOT.  Proceed with caution!

~MJ’s Market P.C. Bar (~$4): This doesn’t taste as, umm, odd as it looks, but it’s not something I would really reach for.  I think it’s the dates and raisins in them?

~Hopkins AG Lime + Sea Salt Almonds: ($3.75) I am usually not an almond fan, but the like and sea salt combination was surprisingly good.

~S.D. Scented Soy Candle ($7):  You can never go wrong with a candle in a subscription box!  I certainly don’t think you can anyway. This smells like beach and sand and ocean and everything I’d expect from San Diego.

~Maw n’ Paw Caramel Kettle Corn ($4): Maw ‘N Paw is located in Laguna Hills and has been popping kernels for over 12 years!  I have become a big popcorn fan thanks to subscription boxes and love this.

All totaled I came up with a value of $47.73 for the December 2015 Hole in Wall Box. The value wasn’t huge, but it was fun to sort through everything and discover what San Diego has to offer!
