GlobeIn Benefit Basket ($19.95/month) is a monthly subscription box featuring one handcrafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan to give them global reach. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by their editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures. The GlobeIn Benefit Basket is a mini version of the popular GlobeIn Artisan Box ($35/month).
GlobeIn ships via USPS. Boxes ship on the 15th of the month (I received mine early for review purposes). Orders placed after the 15th of the calendar month will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month. If boxes sell out before the 15th your subscription will begin the following month.
GlobeIn will generally release full spoilers in advance of the box so you normally know what to expect from the box. I actually didn’t know what the Basket would include this month though. I had a guess, but I wasn’t sure.
The January 2016 GlobeIn Benefit Basket theme was “Bathe” and included the following:
~Pestemal Bath Towel (Denizli, Turkey) ($25): I received this same color towel in my full-sized box and I love that I got a matching one in my “Basket”. It’s lightweight and great for the beach or traveling. I actually use a similar one for my hair after the shower. They are just as absorbent as a thick towel, but they take up way less room in your bag.
~GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico ($12): Every GlobeIn Benefit Basket includes this basket. Colors (and styles) do vary, but this is the basket portion of the box. They can be used for anything from storing toiletries in your bathroom to using as a gift box.
All totaled the January 2016 GlobeIn Benefit Basket had a value of $37. I loved the towel in this month’s basket and think that alone made it worth it this month.
