Two questions today…

1. What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? B’s headed out of town again, so it’s just going to be the little boys and I. I am going to put together some little Valentine’s Day baskets for them and maybe I’ll try and do a pink, red and white muffin tin meal. What about you? Do you have any big romantic plans?

2. Do you follow any YouTubers? What about Podcasts? YouTube is something I have never really gotten into. I think it’s because I am easily distracted and like to read, watch tv, etc. at the same time. It’s hard to watch Teen Mom and watch a YouTube video at the same time though ;). My kids, however, are obsessed with YouTube. L loves all the Minecraft people, but his favorites are Minecraft Jen and Pat. W likes anyone who opens up eggs / toys and also enjoys watching people play with the same toys he has, like trains and car ramps and Paw Patrol stuff. If you watch any channels, what post some links!  Maybe I just haven’t found the right channel to get addicted to!

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on these!

1- no clue. I was going to ignore its existence until N asked me what I wanted to do – I said surprise me… soooo we shall see.

    2. the only people that really consistently amuse me are http://www.youtube.com/user/rhettandlink2 – whenever N is watching them I stop and watch with him

    1. Valerie

Rhett and Link are the best. I watch Good Mythical Morning while I eat breakfast. Better than any talk show on TV, that?s for sure.

  2. Susan

    1) My youngest just had her 4th birthday, so I think Valentine’s day will be a combination birthday dinner with family.
    2) My 2 oldest girls are obsessed with youtube videos too. They love Pat and Jenn, Rhett and Link, Cupquake, Stampy, and Dan from the Diamond Minecart. My 8 yr old has started watching Dance Mom videos, too. I have never gotten into it either, but they seem to love it.

  3. Lindsay

    1. Dinner date with the hubby, very excited because that never happens!

    2. I watch some beauty youtubers (tati, emoilynoel83) and I just recently got in to podcasts. You need to listen to Serial, the first season is the best!! You will be hooked!!!

  4. Christy

My children (8 and 5) are the same way! They love watching stampy cat and kinder eggs. They make their own “pretend” videos together all the time. I won’t let them put it on YouTube- I still feel weird about it. Does anyone else feel that way or do you think it’s perfectly safe?

The Waliking Dead will be back on, since my husband and I never miss it I’m sure out Valentine’s date will be delayed until Monday… even then we’ll probably just cook something fancy at home or go to have sushi if I have my way. Since Lent starts this week, we probably won’t be enjoying sweets though! 🙂
I’m like you, much too busy watching my shows to be distracted by YouTube. From time to time I’ll come across something funny and watch it, but that’s about it.

    1. We are celebrating on Saturday–I got my husband an aeropress coffee maker and an electric teapot to go with it. I think he’ll be excited! He is thrilled about whatever he got me, and I have no idea what it is! We are going out to eat at our favorite sushi place and then going to see one of my favorite authors speak. I’m so excited!

    2. I love anything that Gimlet Media produces–go to gimlet.com and see all of their podcasts. Mystery Show is great, Surprisingly Awesome is great, and Startup is great. I also listen to planet money, stuff you should know, serial, and a few others. Podcasts are the best when you’re getting ready in the mornings, driving alone in the car, running, or whatever. I love love love them!

    1. Since I am single I will probably be home alone, crying into my pillow. Jk on the crying into my pillow. I’ll probably get a cupcake or something and splurge on a fun item and say it is from my dogs.
    2. I love podcasts. You might like Serial since you like that Making a Murderer. I likeStuff You Missed in History Class, the Thrilling Adventure Hour, The Moth, Mortified, Grownups Read What they Wrote as Kids, Dead Authors Podcast, No Such Thing as a Fish, This American Life (unless they get all political), Snap Judgement, Under the Influence, You Must Remember This. I like to listen to podcasts at work and driving places.

My son -loves- Jen and Pat too (and shh..don’t tell, but he’s 13 already!) Their voices are so familiar to me now, that I even got excited when they got married, and shot a fun non-Minecraft video just after their wedding. As for me, I like planner supply hauls, especially the cool stuff people find at Michael’s and Target, and plus-sized clothing hauls/try-ons. And I’ve been enjoying the car pool karaoke from the Late, late show. I don’t have a tv, so everything’s on the computer and iPad for me.

  9. Valerie

I don?t celebrate Valentines? Day (even if I weren?t single, I think it?s stupid ? why put emphasis on expressing love to one day of the year?) but I think my best friend and I are going to go see Deadpool or Pride & Prejudice & Zombies.

I mostly watch gaming youtubers, but admittedly I?ve lost interest somewhat. Still, I love JonTron, Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, BreadHeroDan, and the Game Grumps. For non-gaming content, RHett & Link (Good Mythical Morning), and Joe Santagato (hilarious comedian, but definitely not NSFW!)

  10. Alyssa

    1) my mom and I are having a girls night friday which will likely be our valentine thing. Probably dinner, a movie (I really want to see how to be single) and Costco. I ended up buying her one of the pillowcases popsugar sent last year cause she’d been using mine for a month since it reminded her of her mom using a satin pillowcase.
    2) I love some mainstream popular youtubers grav3yardgirl, leighannsays and now also leighannvlogs she has the cutest lil 3 legged chihuahua named Luna, shane dawson, and daily bumps

  11. Margaret

We’re going bowling because nothing says “I love you” like a trip to the bowling alley….

    1. I work at a dropzone (skydiving place) and we’re having a huge event this weekend, so i’ll be busy working all weekend with that.
    2. I love xsparkage and tati. both have great makeup advice and hauls. The main thing I avoid that seems to be a huge trend on youtube for some reason is screaming at the camera lol, and both of them are very calm which I love.

    1. Jennifer

I have to admit, indoor skydiving does seem fun!!!

  13. Kathy

Podcasts are great while cleaning or doing stuff that can’t be done while watching something. I love Serial – it’s the one that got me hooked. Start with season 1; it’s addictive! Also enjoy Welcome to Night Vale. VERY weird, but lot’s of fun. This American Life is good, and they also have videos that I’ve been watching on PBS.

  14. Alecia

    1) no plans for Valentine’s Day
    2) a beauty youtuber that I like in addition to the ones listed below is Jen Luvs Reviews.

  15. Mary Beth

    1. I work Valentines Day. Closing shift. 🙁

    2. Yay podcasts! I’m obsessed and am always trying to get my friends to listen to them. There is really a podcast out there for every single interest. I listen all the time, driving, cleaning etc. My favorites are : Note to Self. This American Life. Serial. Reply All. Snap Judgment.Short Cuts. Strangers. Doug Loves Movies. The Truth. Radiolab. Freakonomics Radio. Ted Radio Hour. Love + Radio.

This American Life (which is actually a radio show, but I listen to the podcast) was my gateway podcast, so it holds a special place in my heart. (Kind of like how Jennifer has mentioned that Popsugar was her first sub and therefore will always be her favorite.). When I first discovered TAL, I downloaded the app ($3) and listened to the entire series from the start. I felt like I was dropped right into the subject’s lives. It was wonderful. I’ve been hooked on podcasts ever since.

  16. Mary Beth

Oh. I got so excited about podcasts, I forgot to mention youtube. I love watching “what’s in my purse” videos. I don’t know why. They are actually kinda boring, but very calming. The problem is most of them are done by teenagers, I wish more adults would do them. I also like watching people doing unboxings of popsugar boxes as I’m waiting for mine to arrive.

    1. My hubby and I are going to this place that’s similar to Dave & Busters for Valentines Day. The place is called Round 1.They’ve got bowling, arcade games and karaoke booths. We usually do the typical get dressed up and go out to dinner, but we wanted to do something different this year.

    2. I probably watch more Youtube than I do television! I watch a lot of beauty Youtubers. I’m super simple when it comes to makeup, so its fun watching them do tutorials, and hearing about new products. Some of the beauty Youtubers I watch are Dulce Candy, Jaclyn Hill, Carli Babel and Nitraab. I also like watching vlogs on youtube. It’s kind of addicting!! It’s like reality T.V except it seems more real. The first family I watch is Itsjudyslife. They vlog every single day. like seriously everyday. They’ve got 1 year old twins and a 3 year old. They live in the same state as me, so its fun to see the places they go. Idk what it is about seeing other peoples daily lives thats so interesting! Its like a tv show and theres always new episodes! The other family that I watch is Sacconejolys. They are an Irish family living in London. I’ve never lived in another country so its a lot of fun seeing what life is like in London, plus their accents are adorable!! You should check out their channels!
