Aster Market March 2016 Subscription Box Review

Aster Market is a monthly delivered box of exceptionally made, small-batch products from around the world. Boxes will include anything from home décor, jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath products and more. In addition, Aster Marker will donate 25% of the net proceeds of each purchase can be donated to a non-profit of your choice.

Aster Market ships via USPS.  If you subscribe by the last day of the month, your first box will ship the first week of the following month.  For example, if you subscribe by March 31st then your Aster Market box will ship the first week of April.

This was my first ever Aster Market box and I must say, I wasn’t blown away when I opened this up.

The March 2016 Aster Market box included the following items:

~Apoterra Skincare Soap (Volcanic Pumice) (4.5oz) ($12): This soap is made with pumice stone harvested from ancvient volcanic beds.It scrubs away dead skin cells and can even be used on calluses.  It’s recommeded to be used as a hand / body soap and not as a facial soap.  Most bar soaps that come in subscription boxes aren’t “scrubby”, so this is a great change of pace.

~SimplistiCreations Laser Cut Coasters (~$30): I couldn’t find these exact coasters online, so I estimated the price based on what other coasters on their site sell for.  This is a set of 4 wood laser cut coasters.  The detail is on these is great and we will certainly use them.

~Ash & Ember Cascade Pass Soy Candle (4oz) ($8): Candles are made from 100% pure soy wax from soy beans grown by U.S farmers.  I received the “Cascade Pass” which is a combination of Rich Amber, Woodly Oakmoss and Musk along with notes of natural sage, lavandin and orange essential oils.  It smells incredible and I just wish it was larger.

~Haleys Crochet Creations Cozie ($8): Not overly exciting, but I do think this is cute.  I always need a drink sleeve and (as long as I leave this in my car so I always have it) will come in handy when I get Starbucks.

All totaled I came up with a value of (approximately) $56 for the March 2016 Aster Market box. This was my first ever Aster Market box and I wasn’t all that impressed. All of the items in the box will be used and the value was more than the cost of the box, but for the price I would have liked to have seen another item in here.  It felt (to me), like more of a Dottiebox type box which had a much lower price point.  I always like to give boxes three months before making a final decision, so we’ll see what the next two months are like.

What do you think of Aster Market?
