I had checked out the spoilers on Instagram and it looked like some people had issues with items arriving damaged (e-mail them if you have an issue), but mine arrived in perfect condition.

The Spring 2016 CAUSEBOX included the following items:

~The Giving Keys – Classic “Hope” Necklace ($39): We received a Giving Key necklace in a FabFitFun a year or so ago, but I have give mine away.  Giving Keys employes and provides opportunities for the homeless by training them to stamp the words that appear on each key.  The idea with these keys is to wear it and embrace the word on your key and then pass it along to someone who needs the word more than you.

~Acanela – Shashi: India Spice Blend ($19.50): We actually just received this in last month’s Yogi Surprise. It’s a blend of organic cumin seed, mustard seed, turmeric, paprika, coriander powder, fenugreek leaves, dried mango and fennel.  According to the website it will make 10-12 family meals, but I actually think it will be more than that. It’s super flavorful and smells amazing.

~The Created Co. – *exclusive “Bloom” Mug (~$15): Love this!  As you know I have a thing for coffee mugs, so this is fabulous.  It was designed just for CAUSEBOX and asks the question “how will you bloom”?

~Conscious Magazine – Issue 04 ($14): This is maybe the most expensive magazine ever.  It tells the story of individuals who are ignighting positive changed within their communities.

~OSEA – Atmosphere Protection Cream (full-size) ($44): This light-weight cream uses an emollient algae base and an advanced blend of dermal proteins to protect against environmental damage.   OSEA stands for “Ocean, Sun, Earth and Atmosphere” and they are committed to harvesting all of their ingredients safely, naturally and sustainably.  This is very moisturizing, but doesn’t leave your skin feeling heavy or really like you are wearing anything at all.

~Causebox Reclaimed Wood Frame: This 5×7 frame was made by hand out of reclaimed Douglas Fir in Venice Beach.  It’s absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to find the perfect place to display it.

~Speak Your Silence – Stitch Kit ($5): The final item in the box was a Speak Your Silence Stitch Kit.  According to the card 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused prior to the age of 18.  The Stitch Kit allows you to sew an orange zig-zag on a piece of clothing to help to move the issue of child sexual abuse from a taboo cause to a cause that people champion and support.  Note: Speak Your Silence is CAUSEBOX’s nonprofit partner this Spring.

CAUSEBOX by Sevenly Spring 2016 Subscription Box ReviewI couldn’t do a full price breakdown on this box because it had an assortment of CAUSEBOX exclusives.  The value was easily twice the cost of the box and I loved their selections.  It fet well thought out and each item fit very well with the mission of the box.

I keep reading that print as “‘ho pee”. Sigh.

I was really disappointed in this box compared to their winter box. I hope their summer box is better. I have a bazillion mugs, and don’t really need the spice. I thought the print was cute, but was very underwhelmed with the frame. The facial protection cream was nice, but I passed along to my niece because I have a skin care line I already use. I think I was most disappointed with the key necklace. It’s one thing to wear a key around your neck that is bright, shiny and clean to pass on to someone, but a rusty key that looks like it’s been who knows where? I can’t imagine paying $39 for that key! So, while I’m a yearly subscriber I really think they missed the mark with this box and am hoping for more next box. 🙁 The philanthropy component takes away a bit of the sting. But I never would have paid $50 for this box had I seen it before hand.
