Hamptons Lane curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.
Hamptons Lane generally ships in the second half of the month, however, I received this early for review purposes.
The March 2016 Hamptons Lane theme was “Crepes” and includes the following:
~French Blue Steel Crêpe Pan by De Buyer, Vosges, France ($24.95): This non-stick pan is made of blue carbon steel and is ideal for turning and flipping crepes. I think crepes are delicious, but I need to carve out a chunk of time because they really aren’t the easiest thing to make. I know the pan is non-stick, but you need to work quickly and pour in just the right amount of batter.
~Orange Saffron Cardamom Marmalade by Eat This, Erwinna, Pennsylvania ($10): Orange marmalade is something I would probably only eat on a crepe! It’s super flavorful, but really would be best alongside chocolate on a crepe.
~Wooden Crêpe Spreader by Berndes, Lima, Ohio ($13): A crepe spreader is used to spread the batter smoothly and evenly in the pan.
~Hamptons Lane French Style Crêpe Mix by Bear Branch Milling Co., Ash, North Carolina ($8): I am so happy that they included a mix for crepes and not just a recipe to make them yourself. You do need to add milk, butter, water and eggs to it, but that’s pretty standard for a batter. It also needs to be chilled for 30 minutes before using.
~Handmade Dark Chocolate Caramel Sauce by CC Made, Berkeley, California ($5): OMG the best! I will be lucky if I still have this when I am ready to make crepes. It blends high-quality Guittard cocoa with a hint of salty Sel Gris. It’s salty and amazing on oce-cream or just by the spoonful.
~Herbes de Provence by The Spice House, Chicago, Illinois ($3.99): This spice blend is designed for California Style Crepes or Savory Breakfast Crepes (both recipes are included in the information book).
