Yay! My POPSUGAR Special Edition Resort Must Have Box is here!
If you aren’t familiar with them, POPSUGAR Must Have Box is an exciting box full of fun, must-have picks across fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more, which is delivered to your door on a monthly basis. Monthly boxes feature full-size products and premium items including tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands consumers have yet to discover worth over $100!
They also offer special edition boxes on a seasonal (sometimes more) basis. This review is on the 2016 POPSUGAR Special Edition Resort Must Have Box which POPSUGAR described as follows: “The perfect escape starts with our Special Edition Resort box. Filled with lush sun-ready essentials, get ready to create lasting vacation memories in style.“.
The POPSUGAR Special Edition Resort Must Have Box shipped via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to get to my house. They promised to ship boxes by the 15th of March and I do believe that all boxes were shipped on-time as promised.
POPSUGAR always wraps in the items in their Special Edition boxes individually with tissue paper. I already knew what was coming in the box, but the individually wrapped pieces make it more fun to unbox.
The POPSUGAR Special Edition Resort Must Have Box was tailored to elevate your next getaway and is “filled to the brim with goodies that’ll send you into vacation season in style”. They call it a “Resort” box, but Resort season is long over. I would call it more of a Spring Break box if anything. The box included the following items:
~MAKE Beauty Custom Finish Effects Matte Dew ($27): This compact gives you the tools needed to “mattify” your skin and then to give it a dewy glow. I am torn between keeping this for myself or gifting it to a friend (which is why I didn’t stick my fingers in it to swatch it). It gets pretty good reviews on Birchbox, but I don’t know if I *need* it.
~Kara’s Cupcakes Artisan Handmade Toasted Coconut Marshmallows ($12): According to the information card, the tropical coconut flavor of these is designed to get you in the mood for warmer weather. When I saw the spoilers I didn’t really understand what marshmallows had to do with “Resort”, but I guess that makes sense. I’m planning on making rice crispy treats with them. I don’t think we’d eat them all plain, but who can resist a rice crispy treat?
~Rifle Paper Co. Passport Pocket Notebook Set ($10): I absolutely love Rifle Paper Co. products so I was thrilled to see these little notebooks in here. They aren’t something I personally would use when traveling, but I will certainly use them at home. I am constantly grabbing paper to jot down notes and having them in little books is much easier to manage than a million sticky notes.
~DuJour Magazine Subscription ($31.96): I have never heard of DuJour Magazine before, but I will happily redeem this offer. It’s a seasonal subscription and is described as “the ultimate insider’s guide to style, culture, design, beauty and more”. It kind of sounds like Pinterest in magazine form.
~Tai Evil-Eyes Pom-Pom Bracelet ($95): I may be the only person who actually likes these pom-poms. What can I say? I just like pom-poms. Happily if you don’t like these they are easy to snip off. I love the evil eye charm and the wishbone and horseshoe ones are great too. It’s not a piece I personally would pay $95 for, but I didn’t pay $95 for it, so I’m happy!
~Mela Artisans Congo in Indigo Photo Frame ($50): This frame is gorgeous! It’s made from recycled wood and “painstakingly inlaid with indigo bone pieces”. It’s a fair trade piece, but as I mentioned it is made out of bone so I know some people won’t be able to use it. It’s doesn’t really match anything I own, but it’s too pretty not to display somewhere.
~Goorin Bros. Fatima Hat ($46): I am usually not a hat person, but we do have a vacation coming up soon, so this packable hat will be awesome. And actually, I am kind of in love with it. I tested it out (indoors) and really liked it. It’s one-size fits all (my husband and I both tried it on and it fit us both well) and seems very well made.
~Indie Lee Coconut Body Scrub (8oz) ($38): I didn’t realize that this scrub was going to be so big! It doesn’t have a super strong scent, but you can definitely smell the citrus and coconut in it. Because it is so heavy it’s not something I would pack for vacation, but it will smell like a tropical paradise in my shower.
