Julep April 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Codes
Julep
is a monthly nail polish (and beauty) subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish each month.  You are able to fully customize your box so you are guaranteed to receive only products you think you’ll love!

Julep
ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You make your selections for the box between the 20th and 25th of the month and you can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the next month.

I always get add-ons so my box(es) are fuller than they would normally be.

My April 2016 Julep selections were as follows:

~Love Your Bare Face ($22.40 / $28): The Love Your Bare Face cleansing stick is a blend of natural oils and fruit enzymes that remove dirt, oil, and impurities while gently exfoliating for a deep-down clean.  I really haven’t ever tried anything like it.  You apply the balm directly to your skin and then use a sponge (or whatever you prefer) to rinse it off. I think this might be my new favorite Julep beauty product.  It left my skin feeling feeling great and I didn’t find it drying at all.

~Green Tea Konjac Sponge ($9.60 / $12): This sponge is a gentle exfoliator made from the fibrous root of the Konjac plant and infused with green tea powder to balance the skin. I have gotten a few of their Charcoal Konjac Sponges in the past and have always been happy.  This one felt a bit gentler, but overall I haven’t used it enough to see any difference between the two.

~Delaney (It Girl) ($11.20 / $14): Delaney is a blue atoll vivid sheer. If you apply white polish underneath it appears more blue, if you use it alone it’s more of a sheer / green.  Per Julep: “one coat, and you get a juicy wash of color. One coat layered over white, amps the look totally.”  I felt like juicy was the right word to describe this month’s polishes. They are on the thin / runny side.  Be careful not to put too much on your brush!  One dip in the polish covered one hand for me.

~Brigette (Classic with a Twist) ($11.20 / $14): Brigitte is a bright white crème.  This was a free add-on with the majority of this month’s polishes. It’s meant to be used under this month’s polishes for a bolder look, but you can wear it alone as well.

Add-Ons:

~Love Your Bare Face. I actually ordered this as a box item (and not as an add-on) because it worked out to be cheaper that way.  I can’t recall what the add-on price for this was, but I know it was more than the $6.99 the “Delaney” polish would have been.  This second one is for a friend of mine who doesn’t have a Julep subscription, but LOVES their products!

~Brynn (Bombshell) Add-On Price: $6.99. Brynn is a ripe tangelo vivid sheer.

~Shanna (Bombshell) Add-On Price: $6.99. Shanna is a botanical violet vivid sheer.

~LuLu (Classic With a Twist) Free with 3 Add-Ons: LuLu is a wisteria mist soft focus (semi-matte) and was my freebie for getting 3 add-ons this month!

All totaled (using Maven pricing and not including my add-ons), my April 2016 Julep had a value of $54.40.  I was pleased with the value and thought these were so fun to experiment with.  I much prefer the colors with the white underneath and have “Shanna” on my nails right now!

Did you get Julep this month?  What’d you think?  If you are a new customer, use coupon code “COLOR8” to get an amazing 8-piece FREE gift. The gift is a $154 value and includes a blush stick, an eyeliner, an eyeshadow stick, three lip colors and two polishes, plus a cosmetics bag sized just right for travel.  This is probably the best freebie Julep has ever offered, so grab it while it’s here.
