I went into this box totally spoiler free which I loved!
The April 2016 Little Lace Box theme was “Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch” and included the following items which are favorite LLB New York City finds:
~Stern Design Works Mini Brass Leaf and Puddle Ring (Coupon Code) ($28): Stern Design Works is a small design studio in Chelsea Market. The ring isn’t included in the box so that subscribers can select the size they need. Codes should be arriving to redeem the rings in the next 48 hours. If you don’t receive a code within that time, please e-mail LLB. Code expires 6.19.16.
~Bellapierre Hydra-Surge Body Butter ($80) OR Bellapierre Exfoliating Body Scrub ($80): Subscribers will receive either the Body Butter or Body Scrub. I received the scrub which is actually what I would have picked given the choice. It’s described as an “invigorating blend of high quality sea salt, 24-karat gold, and sumptuous oils”. I can’t see the gold in the scrub (trust me I looked) so I will just have to take their word for it ;). It doesn’t smell like too much, it’s almost a light citrus scent? I would never purchase an $80 scrub on my own, but you better bet I am going to enjoy every ounce (it’s 10.58oz) of this.
~Flight Patterns Travel Laundry Bag by Vine Street Markets ($29):According to the information booklet this bag is from Flight Patterns which is the newest partner of Vine Street Markets. It’s being introduced exclusively through Little Lace Box, so we are the first to get it! A laundry bag is something I never travel with, but always should. On your way there you can use it to separate socks and intimates and on the way back you can stuff all your dirty clothes in it. This can also be used for a gym tote or to put your shoes in when you travel.
~Claudia Pearson Designs Tea Towel ($16): Oddly enough I actually have this exact same tea towel in this exact same design. I think it came in a Hazel Lane (they are no longer in business) box a few years ago. I love it though and thanks to subscription boxes I am accumulating such a great collection of tea towels. Note: The second picture makes it look a little yellow. It’s more of a white color.
~Beekman 1802 Wondermint OR Aloe & Iris Lip Balm ($8): Subscribers will receive either the Wondermint or Aloe & Iris lip balm. I received the Aloe & Iris which again is exactly what I would have selected. The information card says that nothing can dampen the excitement of being in NYC more than sore feet and chapped lips and I feel like that applies to most places. LOL! This is 100% natural and contains organic beeswax and organic sunflower oil. Good stuff!
~99 Problems Notepad by LLB ($4.99): It looks like my scrub leaked a little on this notepad. It wasn’t on anything else (except for the bubble wrap the scrub was wrapped in) and I actually thought the notepad was supposed to be like this at first. LOL! The “99 Problems” is a nod to Brooklyn born Jay Z, who does have quite a few problems right now actually. #lemonade
~Rifle Paper Co. Mother’s Day Card ($4.50): This card is amazing! And just in time for Mother’s Day. You can give it to your mom, your sister or anyone else you think is a pretty fabulous mom.
~Knot & Bow Confetti ($4.50): Knot & Bow is located in Brooklyn and apparently has a super cute store. I am going to put these in my 7 year-olds birthday card (when he turns 8) because I know he’ll get a kick out of the big mess it will make.
All totaled I came up with a value of $174.99 for the April 2016 Little Lace Box. I didn’t feel like it screamed NYC, but it had such a nice mixture of products and the value was outstanding so I am very happy!
This April box is sold out, but you can get signed up now for the June 2016 box. New subscribers can use code “RAMBLIN10” to save $10 off your first box of a 6 (aka 3 boxes) or 12 (aka 6 boxes) month subscription.
The June 2016 Little Lace Box theme is “Heavenly Day”!
From Little Lace Box:
Since starting Little Lace Box, we’ve gotten to know many of our subscribers on a personal level. This is an experience that has been both rewarding and heartbreaking, because there are a lot of people out there who are truly hurting. We’ve tried to be helpful whenever possible, and when we do, we see their smiles shining right through our keyboards. Last year on a visit to Chicago, we were lucky enough to experience something called Ravinia Festival. It’s a place just outside of Chicago, and for those of you from Chicago, you probably can say much more about it than I, but while I was there, for one brief shining moment, all my troubles went away. Not for long; not forever, not it made me wish that everyone have a day when their troubles go away. And I thought of the Patty Griffin song, “Heavenly Day.” Patty sings,
“No one at my should bringing me fears
Got no clouds up above bringing me tears
On this Heavenly..heavenly day, all the troubles gone away
for a while anyway, for a while anyway”
I guess a Heavenly Day means something different to each of us. To me, it means, a picnic in the park, going barefoot, feeling warm, staring at beautiful clear skies lit by stars, eating homemade ice cream and enjoying good music, good friends and family. So for all of our subscribers, we know life takes a certain arc, and nothing we do at LLB will chance it, but we want our June Little Lace Box to help you have a heavenly day. A day when “all the clouds blew away” and you can “Lay here and watch the trees sway…for a while anyway, for a while anyway”.
I received a different tea towel, called Brooklyn Dogs, with images of city building and various dogs. The card is just a standard “Happy Mother’s Day” card – would have preferred the World’s Greatest Mom card 🙂 I received the body butter and the Aloe & Iris lip balm.
I really loved getting the laundry bag! How many times have I wished I had one while traveling??? Yay!!!
It’s INTERESTING that all these reviews are so positive. Considering LLB Has HORRENDOUS customer service. Products that aren’t shipped out until a month later from the April box..though no expectations were set for that amount of time and they’re selling the same product on their own sight. The NY themed box was a joke. This business has been impossible to contact until threats of calling the bbb are made then miraculously a sudden call back is given. Of course the free boxes get great reviews. But PAYING CUSTOMERS GET TREATED HORRIBLE.
