~Happy Sunday! We went up-north for the weekend (first trip of the season) and even though it was freezing (it even snowed a little), the kids had a BALL. Unlike me, they are complete up-north kids. We did a little fishing, played in the sandbox, checked on their tree fort, visited some relatives and even played a little Jenga (W is oddly good at Jenga). A good weekend!
~I took advantage of the long drive up-north by reading After You by Jojo Moyes. It was a good book, but not nearly as emotionally taxing as the first one. Not even close. But it was good. And all (well most all) of the characters from the first book make an appearance in here. I don’t want to spoil it if you are planning to read it, but there are some amazing new characters and surprises in here too. It’s a quick read and I did not want to put it down.
~Does anyone else “have” to look at their phone before bed? I would love to break this habit (I hear you sleep better when you stop staring at that bright light from your phone before you go to bed) and saw some of these ideas on POPSUGAR. Some of them won’t work for me – like painting your nails (doesn’t anyone else get sheet marks?), but coloring or reading a chapter in a book might.
~That’s it from here! Hope you had a great weekend!
I read before bed, but the problem with that is that I read on my iPad. Hahaha. I have always read right before bed.
I feel the phone struggle. I used to watch YouTube videos in bed right until I fell asleep, which meant I would lose my phone in the bed at some point and wake up laying on it. I don?t have a charging dock in my room anymore (since I switched from the 4S to the 6, bc different adapters) so to conserve battery I switch it to airplane mode about half an hour before bed. Even if I?m still wandering around my house locking up and tidying, there?s no notifications on my phone to tempt me to check it before I actually get into bed.
Reading works too, but only if I have something I actually want to read. I use my Kindle Paperwhite, which is another screen, though. It?s soooo hard going screenless.
