Target Beauty Box
Cost: $10/One-Time Purchase (now sold out)
Ships To: United States.

My May 2016 Target “spring, FLING” Beauty Box has arrived! This Target Beauty Box was $10 (they vary in price from $5-$10) and was available through Target’s website for a limited time only. It was released on May 2nd (around 4am EST) and sold out in hours. Boxes are generally released the first Monday of the month around 5am EST. Target doesn’t announce in advance when they are released, but they have been sending out e-mails to those who have previously purchased these boxes and are on their subscriber list. Target Beauty Box boxes are NOT subscription boxes and must be purchased individually as they are released.
Target Beauty Box ships via USPS and arrived in under a week.
I love opening these boxes up and checking out the size of the samples.
The May 2016 “spring, FLING” Target Beauty Box included the following faves to keep your routine fun and fresh:
~Andalou Naturals Resveratrol Q10 Night Repair Cream (0.4fl.oz) ($5): This is an all-natural blend of antioxidants that works overnight to “stimulate circulation and healthy cell renewal”. I found the texture to be almost a cross between a serum and a cream. It’s not heavy, soaks in quickly and you don’t need to use a ton.
~Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream (20mL) ($12.80): Laneige is a brand that has popped up in a few Target Beauty Boxes (this exact product was also in the Holiday for Her box). I like the cream well enough, but it’s not something I find effective enough to use daily. It’s nice for traveling and really does keep your skin hydrated for a longer than typical moisturizes do.
~L’Oréal® Paris Colour Riche La Lacque Lip Pen (207 – lacque-y you) (Full-Size) ($8.99): Boxes will include either a La Lacque or Le Matte pen. I received the Lacque which seems to be deeper (maybe a tad shinier) than the Matte. Lacque-Y-You is a deep rose, not too dark, but very pretty. The information card describes it as highly pigmented, but compared to some lip pencils and crayons I didn’t think it was that pigmented.
~Hair Food Sulfate Free Kiwi Dry Shampoo (1.7 fl.oz) ($4.99): I think my love for dry shampoo is clear by now, so this is obviously a score for me. I am also a big Hair Food fan and I love their shampoos and conditioners. This smells good (fruity but not too strong) and doesn’t leave any powder residue. (Note: This also appeared in the Holiday for Her Target box).
~Derma E Firming DMAE Moisturizer with Alpha Lipoic and C- Ester (14g) ($5): Derma E is another brand that frequently appears in the Target Beauty Box. This cream is made with DMAE, Jojoba oil and vitamins A & E and is designed to firm and lift skin. It’s creamy and instantly made my skin smoother. It’s 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten-free and GMO-free, but they do recommend doing a “patch test” with this as it contains DMAE and Alpha Lipoid Acid which some people have adverse reactions to.
~Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream (Sample): This really an be used for anything and everything. It works as a moisturizer, can be used for rashes, eczema, scars and burns and even acts as a makeup remover or primer. I just used mine as a moisturizer, but want to buy a larger size and take advantage of all of its uses.
~CeraVe Unscented Foaming Facial Cleanser (0.5fl.oz) ($0.50): This cleanser removes make-up and dirt and oil while also maintaining your skin’s protective barrier. It’s very liquidity and I ended up using way more of this than I wanted to! Pour slowly with this one.
~Burt’s Bees Oil Basic Cleansing Facial Cleanser (1 fl.oz.) ($2.67): This is a cleanser oil, but I didn’t think it was as thick as some of the other cleanser oils I have used. That’s not to say it didn’t work (I quite liked it and found it to be very gentle and non-drying), but again be careful not to pour out too much. This product is paragon and phthalate-free and 100% natural.
~L’Oreal® Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes – Medium Natural Tan (1 Towelette) (~$1.10): I need to exfoliate before giving this a try. It gets great reviews and I find that tanning towels are much easier to use than creams or foams. Just make sure to wash your hands after! I cannot stress that enough. I have been guilty of not doing it quickly enough after using self tanner and have been left with crazy hands for a few days!
All totaled I came up with a value of approximately $41 for the May 2016 “spring, FLING” Target Beauty Box. That is a great value for a $10 box and as usual, I wish Target would just go ahead and make it a monthly subscription! I also want to mention that the box includes a $3 off $15 coupon for your next Target or Target.com beauty purchase (expires 6.11.16).
As I mentioned this box is now sold out, but I will post as soon as Target releases the next Beauty Box and will also send out an e-mail to those on my Newsletter list. I am giving one away though (Target offered a free $5 gift card with a $20 Beauty purchase while these boxes were available so I grabbed two to score the card), so be sure to enter below.
