Stitch Fix June 2016 Subscription Box Review

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

Stitch Fix shipped via FedEx (out of Dallas) this month and took just a few days to arrive. Stitch Fix ships from a few different warehouse locations in the US. I used to think they shipped based on your location, but now I am not so sure because my previous boxes all arrived from Indiana and the last few have been from Dallas.

Every Stitch Fix contains a note from your Stylist with some styling tips and details on why they selected each item in your Fix for you.

My June 2016 Stitch Fix (which is Fix #33 for me) contained the following:

~Market & Spruce Benni Crossfront Knit Top ($48): I don’t dispute that this shirt is cute or that the material is maybe the softest thing ever, but I think it’s a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.  It is for me anyway.  I would be scared to move.  I am sure I could wear a tank under it, but the shirt wouldn’t look as cute. Verdict: Returned.

~41Hawthorn Kassidy Faux Wrap Dress ($68): I am on the fence on this one.  It’s cute, but I have a long tunic in a very similar pattern (and in similar colors) so I don’t think I “need” this one too.  It has an included sash which I like, but between the similar pattern and the wrap aspect (just not a good style for me) I think I am going to have to pass on it.  Verdict: Returned.

~Renee C Galinda Printed Maxi Skirt ($58): I had specifically requested some dresses and skirts in this Fix.  I am on the fence on this one too.  I do love the pattern, but I think it might be better on someone else?  It’s just too wild for me and the bottom is a little too flowy.  Verdict: Returned.

~Loveappella Deanna Printed Maxi Skirt ($58): Oddly I don’t think this one is quite as wild as I though the last skirt was.  It’s not as flowy either and the fit is great!  I don’t have any skirts that are at all similar to this so it’s perfect. Verdict: Kept.

~Brixon IVY Levi Dress ($68): This dress is SO cute, but also, so not me.  It’s really short (and I am not even tall) and the stripes do not do me any favors.  At all.  On someone else though I think this would be adorable. Verdict: Returned.

Stitch Fix fulfilled my requests for dresses and maxi skirts, but only one of them ended up working out for me.  I’m always happy if I have at least one piece that works for me so I consider this a win.  Plus it gives my Stylist some better direction on the types of items I enjoy.
