bluum August 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code

bluum, is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies.  Products are hand-selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage.  They now have an option that allows you to select the items you wish to receive in your boxes which I think is awesome. You don’t have to pick, but the option is there if you’d like to. I have gotten bluum for years and while the boxes have had their ups and downs I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription (which is for my 4 year-old son – aka W).

bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive.  I typically plan on receiving it during the second half of the month.

My last few bluum boxes have been pretty disappointing. I e-mailed them about the low values / not getting the items I selected, so they are adding two bonus products to my September box.  Not too bad.

My August 2016 bluum box, for a 4-year-old boy, included the following items:

~The Wind in the Willows (~$10): I can’t seem to locate this exact version of The Wind in the Willows anywhere online,  so I estimated the price.  It’s a classic, but for some reason, we didn’t own this.  I am thrilled to have it now!

~Jean Pierre Cosmetics Daily Cleansing Towelettes ($3.99): I always need face wipes, so I was excited to see these as a selection.  They remove dirt, oil, and makeup to leave your skin feeling cleansed and soothed.  They work great and are amazing for traveling.

~Bumkins Snack Bag ($5.95): These snack bags are machine washable and are an amazing alternative to ziplock bags.  We already have a few, but they are so handy that another one is very welcome.

~Crazy A’s ($8.95): Crazy A’s is a fast-paced phonics game formerly known as Whizizzle Phonics.  It’s a little above W’s level, but we’ll work on it and get there.

All totaled I came up with a value of $28.89 for my August 2016 bluum.  That’s slightly under the cost of the box, but that’s my fault for my selections I suppose. I think I may need to change W’s age group, so I have more options to pick from.

This month was the first one in forever I actually got my selections. It was supposed to be the last month of my groupon too, but julys box was so bad and I was so mad about it they extended my sub another month. I would never pay full price for this sub it’s barely worth $20 when you don’t get your selections

I recently signed up with bluum. My 1st box was in April. I was pleased with the first 2 boxes i recieved but when Junes box came it was missing an item. I contacted cs and was told an extra item would be in next months box. When Julys box came it was really bad. I got 2 of the same item and the box was not even worth $20. I always choose my items and I didn’t choose anything i recieved. Plus they still owed me an item because it was missing an item also. Again i contacted cs and my Sept box is supposed to be free of charge and i am supposed to get that extra item in Aug box. Today I open my box and there is an item missing. So they still owe me an item. I’m really considering cancelling after my free box in Sept. If they actually do give me a free box.
