Freshly Subscription Box Review
Freshly

~FRESHLY FLEX 6: $69/week – 6 gourmet meals delivered to your door once a week.
~FRESHLY FLEX 9: $99/week – 9 gourmet meals delivered to your door once a week.
~FRESHLY FLEX 12: $129/week – 12 gourmet meals delivered to your door once a week.
~FRESHLY FIT: $229/week – 21 gourmet meals in two weekly deliveries (Delivery #1 has nine meals, Delivery #2 has 12 meals).

Freshly ships packages Monday-Friday, which means your meals are delivered Tuesday-Saturday, depending on which delivery date you selected and your location.

All of my meals arrived chilled – just as promised.

You can select your meals on the Freshly site, but I opted for a surprise shipment.  I pretty much knew which meals I would love, but I wanted to check out a variety of their offerings for my review.

My Freshly delivered included the following items:

~Jerk Chicken: The Jerk Chicken was my favorite of the bunch and the one I tried first.  It has 390 calories, 17g of fat and 850mg of sodium.  I thought the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the mango salsa was amazing!  The cauliflower rice was also delicious.  I wish I had the recipe for this.

~Three Bean Turkey Chili: Three Bean Turkey Chili has 560 calories, 33g of fat and 1190mg of sodium.  It’s billed as one of their most popular dishes, but I didn’t love it.  It contains antibiotic-free ground turkey chili, mixed with black, pinto, and kidney beans. I thought it was a little too cheesy.  I would have loved the cheese on the side to sprinkle on after I had heated it up. However, had I tried this on a chilly day with a side of sour cream I suspect I would have been in love.

~Grilled Flat Iron Steak: The Grilled Flat Iron Steak had 510 calories, 28g of fat and 1130mg of sodium. B (my husband) tried this one, and while he liked it, he was still hungry after.  In all fairness, though, he is often still hungry after eating a Hello Fresh or a Plated meal.

~Denver Omelette: The Denver Omelette has 430 calories, 34g of fat and 530mg of sodium.  It has ham and bacon tossed together with mild cheddar cheese, onion, green and red bell pepper with just a hint of salt and pepper.  I found it very filling, and it didn’t think it was rubbery or “off” tasting at all.  That was my worry with reheating an omelette, but it tasted very fresh.

~Roasted Pork Tenderloin: The Roasted Pork Tenderloin has 260 calories, 10g of fat and 1190mg of sodium.  I don’t know where my picture of this one went, but it was an unexpected favorite.  I was surprised at how much I liked the pork and how good the veggie mix was.

~Grilled Herb Chicken: The Grilled Herb Chicken has 420 calories, 18g of fat and 790mg of sodium.  The chicken in this one was perfectly cooked, and the spaghetti squash cakes were unlike anything I have tried before.  I may try and make them at home soon.

I enjoyed my Freshly box, but I did think it was on the expensive side at $11.50/meal.  Although, that’s not too much more than your Plated or Hello Fresh subscription and this does all the work for you.  You just have to heat up the meals (2 minutes in the microwave), and that’s it!  I had most of my meals while my husband was out of town and loved having it all ready to go in the fridge for me.
