GlobeIn August 2016 Subscription Box Review - "Pamper" + Coupon Code

The GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring GlobeIn‘s favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by their editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures.

GlobeIn ships via USPS. Boxes ship on the 15th of the month (I received mine early for review purposes). Orders placed after the 15th of the calendar month will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month.  If boxes sell out before the 15th, your subscription will begin the following month.

The majority of the items this month came packed in the GlobeIn basket.  There wasn’t an option to swap the basket out this month which made me a little sad;(.

The August 2016 GlobeIn Artisan Box theme was “Pamper” and included the following:

~Jewelry Roll (Malaysia) ($30): I’m not sure that I expected this to be quite so pretty!  It’s STUNNING!  The jewelry roll was hand-dyed through the ancient process of batik with toxic-free dye from the mangosteen fruit.  The Batik Boutique – the company behind these roll, provides women life skills and sewing training that gives them an opportunity to support their families.  This roll will help keep necklaces tangle-free (I.hate.tangled necklaces) and will store your bracelets and rings in style.

~The Argan Project Cosmetic Argan Oil (Morocco) (30mL) ($18): This 100% pure argan oil can be used as a daily facial moisturizer or as an intensive treatment to dry, irritated calloused skin, scars, and chapped lips.  You can also use it to style your hair (I love it for shine and to smooth flyaways) or as a deep conditioner.  For whatever reason I find that argan oil dries out my skin (which makes no sense), so I will be sticking to using this in my hair.  And around my cuticles.

~Shibori Scarf (India) ($25): This scarf is 60″ x 19″ and was dyed using the Shibori technique. It is a process of dyeing cloth in which stitching, binding, and folding are used to create geometric and tie-dye patterns.  It’s lightweight, and I love the tassels on it!  I think (maybe not) all of the scarves will be in this green color, but the patterns will be all unique as they are hand-dyed.

~GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico ($12):  The past few months GlobeIn has offered subscribers the opportunity to swap the palm leaf basket for another item.  This month though everyone received the basket. They can be used for anything from storing toiletries in your bathroom to using as a gift box, but I love when they have the option to switch it up as I already have a bunch of these.

All totaled I came up with a value of $85 for the August 2016 GlobeIn Artisan Box.  This was a great box for me!  That jewelry roll alone is just! Love it!
