ipsy August 2016 Subscription Box Review
ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

The August 2016 ipsy theme was “Sugar Highness” and included the following items:

~The Bag: The bag this month is amazing!  There are actually two variations, and I think they are both just gorgeous!

~JAPONESQUE Velvet Touch Blush in Shade 02 (.053oz) ($5.09): This is a buildable blush – you can add layers to get the shade you want. 02 is a peach / bronze shade.  Very light and pretty.

~111SKIN Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask (1 Mask) ($25.85): Wow, a $26 mask!  It’s designed to brighten and even out skin tone.  I used it immediately and found it to be messy – almost sticky?  You sure want to use this one while lying down.  It will drip if you don’t.  I thought it was fabulous, though.  It made my skin glow.  I can only imagine how amazing my skin would look if I used this 3x/week as recommended.

~Winky Lux Diamond Complexion Powder (Medium) (3g) (~$8.50): This impressed more than I initially expected it to!  It was so creamy, and the coverage was amazing.  This pretty much makes your skin look like that amazing SnapChat filter with the yellow flower crown.  Just fabulous.

~The Organic Pharmacy Rose Facial Cleansing Gel (30mL) ($25.50): No, you read that right.  This cleanser sample is $25!  It’s an Aloe, Rose Hip, Rose and Bilberry infused cleansing gel and is designed to leave your skin “fresh and glowing”.  I’ll admit it’s nice, but I’m not looking to spend $85 on a full-size cleanser, so I won’t be letting myself like it too much.

~Benefit Cosmetics NEW gimme brow-volumizing eyebrow gel (1g) ($8): This comes in three shades (1 = light, 3 – medium and 5 – dark).  I received 5, which is much too dark for me.  I need to check my ipsy profile.  I actually think it’s blank (meaning I never set any preferences), so maybe I should adjust some things in there.  I do have a few friends who will love this, though!  It does work and if you want a quick way to make your brows look great, try this.

My August 2016 ipsy had a value of $72.94.  Pretty amazing for a $10 bag!

Your bag was amazing! I wasn’t thrilled with mine. The same blush, black eyeliner, facial cleanser, moisturizer and illuminater. Still a good value for $10. That mask looks incredible!

I really think the blank profile helps! Sometimes I get stuff I don’t like / won’t use, but my values have been so high lately!

My bag was great this month! I am going to put mine on my blog later this weekend. I have trouble finding prices how do you figure out yours?

If the full size is 2oz and $20 and we get a 0.5oz sample, that would work out to $10/oz or $5 for the sample we received. So, $20/2 = $10 x 0.5 = $5.
