Lil' Bear Book Club August 2016 Review
Lil’ Bear Book Club is a monthly children’s book subscription service. If you choose board books ($21.99/month), you’ll get 3-4 board books. If you chose picture books ($22.99/month), your child will get 2-4 picture books depending on the retail value of the individual books.  I received the “Picture Books” box to review.

Lil’ Bear Book Club ships via USPS Media Mail between the 13th and 15th of the month.

Both books were gift wrapped in fun wrapping paper.  That just made the unboxing experience even better.  The box didn’t include an information card, but my August 2016 Lil’ Bear Book Club “Picture” Book box contained the following items:

~Night Knight by Owen Davey (Signed!) (Amazon Price: $14.31):  I used the Amazon price for this one, but that’s not completely accurate since this book was signed by the author – Owen Davey!  How cool is that? We have this book here and love it.  It’s a silly tale of a little knight’s battle for bedtime.  We don’t have too many bedtime battles anymore, but we appreciate the story ;).

Amazon DescriptionCome on a bedtime adventure with one little knight as he rides through forests to reach his bedroom, battles crocodiles to brush his teeth and climbs the tallest tower to get into bed. This exciting and imaginative bedtime tale is told through Owen Davey’s charming and witty words and illustrations — making this a perfect k-nightly read for every young adventurer.

~You’re a Crab – A Moody Day Book ($13.94): Listen, sometimes you just have a crabby day.  And you’re not alone!  This book is a cute reminder that your mood isn’t going to last forever.  The illustrations are beautiful, and this is just an all around cute book.

Amazon DescriptionSome days, it’s easy to feel friendly or funny or silly. But other days, it’s easier to feel mad or mean or snappy―in other words, to be a crab.

In this accessible introduction to moods and feelings, children will meet an underwater world full of friendly creatures, including a little crab whose changing moods show that it’s okay to have days when you’re feeling a little bit under the weather. Things will turn around soon enough!

All totaled I came up with a value of $28.25 for the August 2016 Lil’ Bear Book Club “Picture” Book box.  That’s over the cost of the box, which is amazing since it’s hard to beat Amazon prices.  Plus, one of the books was even signed!
