~Good morning! It’s August and I am so hoping this month is better than July. If I could have slept through the last few weeks in July I probably would have!
~Subscription box wise I am expecting Mommy Mailbox, Hammock Pack, Degustabox, Wantable Intimates, GlobeIn, BuddhiBox, my Birchbox for CEW boxes and Julep this week. Probably a few more, but that’s all I can think of right now.
~Did anyone else order an Erin Condren Life Planner this year? I got mine back in June (and have been actually been using it), but I couldn’t resist this new flamingo cover. And iPhone case. I have never gotten their iPhone cases before, but I am in love. It’s SO pretty. I probably shouldn’t have gotten my name on it though because now my mom won’t want to use it (we swap cases). Sorry, mom!
~Does your school offer a Back-To-School supply shopping service? I know some schools offer services like SchoolKidz, but our school doesn’t offer it. Not yet anyway. I am going to help look into it for next year and am wondering your thoughts. Do you think it’s worth it? If your school offers it do you like it? Would you like not to have to hunt down a laundry list of items every year?
That’s it from here. Hope your August is off to a great start!
Our private school has K-12 but they only offer packaged supplies up to 5th grade. Mine are older but oh I wish they offered it for them.
Our PTO used to buy the supplies and put them together for kids as a fundraiser, and we loved it! The kids all had matching everything and teachers could make fairly late decisions about changes. This is the second year we will use SchoolKidz. Last year I forgot to sign up as you need to sign up before school lets out and it was really painful to try and find the exact items on the list and took us three stores. This year I am grateful to not have to shop again. I know I can find better deals if I shop on my own probably, but three stores with four kids about killed me last year.
My kids school offer the supplies and I ordered with them the first years, but after that year I did not do it on time I discovered that it was so much better buying them myself, I actually got better prices outside and now that I am buying for 2 kids the difference is huge, the only thing I try to do is having all the supplies before middle July so I do not have to hunt supplies and I can find everything in just one store (usually target). It is the same with the uniforms, the school give you the colors and you can buy wherever you want and since both my kids are super skinny Gap is the best option for me, so, usually I have all the clothes before July ends otherwise I now I will suffer 😀
I love that flamingo case, are they resistant? I am not gonna lie I drop my phone a lot 😀
I use office max depot 1 cent 25 cent deals ea week starting July 4th and am all set by labor day and with extra to boot!
Our lists are so specific! I don’t know how much of that I would be able to use.
Our school uses it and doesn’t even give you the option to buy your own supplies. I feel like it is really expensive compared to what I would have spent on sale at Target etc. I have mixed feelings about it. There is something sweet about getting school supplies with your children and how excited they are to shop with you for them. It is very convenient, however, and many parents love it.
Our school does. They use the Edukit company. I love it especially since we only have a week between grades and there are no good deals at the beginning of July. The first couple of years I bought our own supplies and when I compared I only save about $5 which was with multiple stops and different stores so I think it is well work it and makes things so easy. We’re tracked out now so working on our 3 weeks of fun until they go back in again. 🙂
