The GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring GlobeIn‘s favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by their editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures.
GlobeIn ships via USPS. Boxes ship on the 15th of the month (I received mine early for review purposes). Orders placed after the 15th of the calendar month will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month. If boxes sell out before the 15th, your subscription will begin the following month.
The September 2016 GlobeIn Artisan Box “Threads” box included the following items:
~The Vicky Tee by Wildlife Works (Kenya) ($30): I think this *might* be the first piece of clothing we have ever received from GlobeIn. It was made in Nairobi, Kenya by Wildlife Works who has the goal of providing people in wildlife-rich areas with sustainable economic alternatives to poaching and deforestation. A great cause and a great shirt.
~Tassel Bag Charm by Tribe Alive (Honduras) ($10): OMG I love this! This charm is amazing. It can be used as a keychain or attached to a bag. GlobeIn’s order for these tassel charms prompted Tribe Alive to hire six new artisans, which is amazing itself. I can’t wait to put this to use.
~Foldover Clutch by Tribe Alive (India) ($50): This is another love! It’s designed to be a clutch, but I love the idea of it as a makeup bag. The designs on both sides of the bag are fantastic, and the navy and white are perfect. I am thrilled that the pouch has a zipper closure and not just a snap.
~The Root Collective Gift Card (Guatemala): The gift card has a value of $50 and is to be applied towards a pair of shoes at The Root Collective. I am not going to include this card in the value of the box because you will have to spend money to buy these.
~Spotted Bandana (Della, Ghana) ($10) OR Handwoven Palm Leaf Basket (GlobeIn, Mexico) ($12): GlobeIn allowed Artisan Box subscribers to choose between either the Spotted Bandana this month or the Handwoven Palm Leaf Basket. They sent me both of them to check out this month. I love that they give you a choice because sometimes you just end up with too many baskets.
All totaled the September 2016 GlobeIn Artisan Box had a value of $100 (that’s including the $10 bandana, but not the $12 Basket). This box had such a variety of items, and I really enjoyed it.
