Before they shipped this box Adults & Crafts reached out to see what my favorite colors were, which had me extra curious about this!

The October 2016 Adults & Crafts project was “Wood Burned (Pyrography) Tree Slice Sign”.  I have never tried this technique before, but I was excited to see how it worked!

Materials

Adults & Crafts included all of the materials necessary to complete the project including paint, a Woodburner, a slice of wood and even a hanger to put it up.

The Project

The first step was to trace your image onto the wood.  I settled on the block Spartan S because I thought it would be easy and of course because I love my Spartans (it’s going to be  a rough year though).

I loved the wood burner!  The harder / longer you press the deeper the burn will be.  It took some trial and error, but the slower you do it, the better!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to paint mine but I am glad I did!  And I am glad that I told them that green was one of my favorite colors.  I haven’t decided where to hang this yet, but I love how it came out.  It looks a little rough in spots, but it was so fun to do!
