This box was off to a great start.   The presentation and packaging were amazing!

My October 2016 HOOT for Kids (which was curated for a 4-year-old boy) included the following items:

~A is for Apple ($7.95): At first I thought this was too young for W (my 4-year-old), but once I read the information card I realized that it’s not at all. The book teaches little ones not only to recognize the letters, but also how to form them.  This is exactly what W is learning at school right now with the Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum they use.  This book is a great compliment for that!

~Hape Rainbow Pan Flute ($4.99): I hate this, but W, oh he loves it. LOVES IT.  I looked at some reviews on Amazon and they noted that the flutes weren’t loud enough.  We didn’t find that to be the case at all.  Quite the opposite in fact ;).  LOL! He hasn’t mastered any tunes yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

~Learning Resources Number Stack Pancakes ($9.99): This set helps little ones develop fine motor skills and learn to count.  Counting is huge around here right now and we are counting everything.  This set is fun because it lets you count and play at the same time.  We’ve been using the pancakes to add too.

Hoot for Kids October 2016 Subscription Box Review

All totaled I came up with a value of $22.93 for the October 2016 HOOT for Kids. I loved the contents of this box, but was disappointed that the box was so low in value in comparison to the cost of the box.  I would have liked to see the contents at least equal the cost of the box.

I really want to find a new kids box for my 4 year old girls. I’m sad the value wasn’t better with this box because $35 a month is not cheap. Oh how I miss Citrus Lane!
