ipsy October 2016 Review

ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

ipsy October 2016 Review

My October 2016 “Black Magic” ipsy included the following items:

~The Bag: Maybe the cutest ipsy bag yet!  It’s a super pale pink with cute Halloween characters and objects on it.  Even the zipper pull has a little ghost on it.

~INSPR Duo Brow Powder in Dark Brown (1.5g) (~$9): I can’t tell how large the full-size of this is, but I am going to guess this is about half that?  It’s a smudge proof, two-tone powder that will helo you get perfect brows every time. I have so many brow products that I rarely use as it is, so I will be passing this on to a friend.

~Dermelect Rapid Repair Facial Moisturizer (0.5oz) ($9.50): This moisturizer has ultra skin calming ingredients and promises to leave your skin “velvety soft and supple without any oily residue or film.” I liked it, but I wasn’t blown away.  It made my skin feel nice and, as promised, it wasn’t oily, but I didn’t find anything extra special about it.

~NUDESTIX Concealer Pencil (Medium 4) (2.8g) ($12): I can’t find how the size on the full-size of this, I am guessing that this is about half the size of a full-sized product? That seems fair.  This is not only a concealer, but it can also be used on your waterline to brighten eyes and make them look bigger or to keep lip products in place.  The coverage is great, and it did the job quite well.

~Beaute Basics Satin Taupe Eye Shadow (0.14oz) ($6.99): Gorgeous color.  This is totally me, and while it may not be the fanciest shadow around, I am thrilled.

~theBalm Cosmetics CabanaBoy Blush (.02oz) ($1.40): This is a “dusty-rose with plum undertones.” I have a lot of blushes, but this shade is more interesting that most that I have. It’s not a true pink, and I like that.

ipsy October 2016 Review

All totaled I came up with a value of $38.89 for my October 2016 “Black Magic” ipsy.  Not my favorite month (except for that bag of course), but it was worth my $10.
