Mine Chest October 2016 Subscription Box Review

Mine Chest, the first official Minecraft subscription box, is a bundle of hand-picked, official, Minecraft goodies, delivered right to your doorstep each month. Exactly what’s included each month is a closely-guarded secret, but expect an exclusive t-shirt every month, exclusive items, a premium collectible chest, a unique project, and a selection of official collectibles.

Mine Chest ships on a monthly basis via USPS. They used to ship during the end of the month, but they now ship at the beginning of the month. They seem to be working out the kinks on this system still though as the October (and September) box shipped mid-month instead of at the beginning of the month.

My boys (they are 4 and 8 are 100% obsessed with Minecraft).  They LOVE opening up their Mine Chest – so much so that I have to open it up, take pictures and then repackage it all up for them so they can do whatever they like with it.

The October 2016 Mine Chest theme was “Cold Taiga” and included the following items:

~Minecraft Dog / Skeleton: L ( my 8-year-old) had to explain this to me.  When the flaming skeleton dies, he drops bones.  And then you give those bones to a wolf to tame it.  Any Minecraft shirt is a good shirt in his opinion, so this was a win ;).

~Minecraft Dog Pin: My 4-year-old claimed this pin right away and had me put it on his shirt.  We have gotten pins in most of our Minechest boxes and he’s claimed them all.  I’d put them on his backpack, but I am not 100% sure they’ll stay on there because it gets tossed around a lot, so he’ll have to stick with wearing them.

~Minecraft Mini-Figures: Somehow I get sucked into buying these at Target for the boys, so seeing them in here was fantastic.  We don’t have any from the Ice Series yet, so these were all new for the boys.  I believe that W got the horse and L took the other two.

~Minecraft Stamp & Ink Pad: Every Minechest so far has included a stamp and ink pad. It took us a while to figure out what this was, but we finally realized it was a heart!  I’m hoping we don’t get a stamp every month, but we’ll see.  The boys love getting them.

~Minecraft Pop-Up: I was too busy trying to figure out how to fold this thing up that I forgot to take a picture.  I’m still not sure I get it?

~Mine Chest Exclusive Stickers: Cool Minecraft stickers are harder to find than you’d think!  The boys used these to decorate the computer they play Minecraft on.  And my little one wore some too.
