The December 2016 GlobeIn Artisan Box theme was “Comfort” and included the following items:
~GlobeIn Greeting Card: The last few months have included a GlobeIn greeting card. This one said “A house is made of brick & stone. A home is made of love alone.”
~Equal Exchange Organic Rooibos Small Farmers Big Change ($4.50): This tea is caffeine free and is made from the botanical infusion of the rooibos plant. I am not a fan of tea, but my cousin and sister-in-law enjoy it.
~Hand-Painted Pyramid Candles ($19.95): These candles are GORGEOUS! They were hand-painted by artisans in South Africa. They are 2in square at the base and 4.25 inches tall. They are so pretty that I almost feel bad burning them!
~Ceramic Cup + Saucer ($): This set was produced in Khurja, India which has been deemed India’s “ceramic city.”According to the information card, the GlobeIn order for these provided over 50 local artisans with work.
~Piece & Co. Woven Cotton Throw (India): This cotton throw was made by women in Kaur, India in partnership with the global textile company Piece & Co. It’s made out of yarn woven from recycled cotton scraps, a method of production that saves land, water, and energy while also reducing landfill waste. It’s a thinner blanket (I wouldn’t call it cozy, but it will keep the chill away) and I love the triangle pattern.
~GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico ($12): Every GlobeIn includes the signature palm leaf basket (some months give you the option to choose between the basket and a replacement item). Colors (and styles) do vary, so it’s not like you are getting the same one every month. They can be used for anything from storing toiletries in your bathroom to using as a gift box.
I couldn’t locate prices for a few of these pieces so I couldn’t do a cost breakdown on this box. I enjoyed their selections and more than that; I love reading about the makers of these items.
