MyIrelandBox Review - November 2016

MyIrelandBox is a subscription box straight from Ireland to your doorstep!  The box includes one large or 2-4 Irish made/designed home goods, accessories, jewellery, stationary or beauty products.

MyIrelandBox ships from Ireland and, in general, takes about a week to arrive.

I’m never 100% sure what to expect from MyIrelandBox (one month had a stuffed sheep and another month had a wooden elk puzzle) so it’s a fun one to open.

The November 2016 MyIrelandBox included the following items:

~The Dublin Cookbook: The Dublin Cookbook is a “compilation of recipes from Ireland’s best loved chefs and restaurants”.    The recipes don’t seem overly complicated, but they do seem tasty!  There aren’t a ton of images in the cookbook, but that’s just fine with me because my stuff never looks like the pictures anyway.  Proceeds from this book help support Temple Street Hospital.

~Hairy Fruit Art Double Oven Globes: These are the most interesting oven mitts I have ever seen. The pattern consists of floral silhouettes of the Emerald Isle, but I thought they looked a bit like bears ;).  I could not get a picture of these on (although that would have been entertaining to watch), but it’s basically two connected oven mitts.  Your arms and your hands are both protected.  It takes a while to get used to using (it felt a little awkward at first), but I feel like this is a trend that could catch on.

~Maple Tree Pottery Hanging Decoration: This is billed as a “hanging decoration”, but to me it’s a Christmas ornament. Although it would make for a cute decorative piece in the kitchen.  All pieces are handmade and fired in a small kiln in the beautiful seaside town of Greystones, Co. Wicklow.
