Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces. If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything! Stitch Fix is now offering exchanges for sizing as well. Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix. You have a few days to try everything on, and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.
Cost: $20 Styling Fee + Cost of Items Kept ($20 fee will be applied as a credit toward anything you keep from your shipment.)
Ships To: United States.
Coupon Code: N/A
Stitch Fix shipped via USPS this month and took just a few days to arrive. Stitch Fix ships from a few different warehouse locations in the US and shipping varies between USPS and FedEx.
Once your Stitch Fix ships you can peek at the items in your shipment. I have no willpower so I always peek.
All Stitch Fix boxes this month include a “Season of Style” sweepstakes scratch-off card. Sadly I didn’t win a gift card, but it was fun to play.
I have a bad habit of leaving my “Stylist Notes” section blank on my Stitch Fix account. I just let them go with it on my fixes and pick out whatever they think would work. I did, however, put a link to my Stitch Fix blog reviews in my notes, which I think helps my Stylist.
My January 2017 Stitch Fix (which is Fix #40 for me) included the following items:
~Octavia Hayley Bird Print Infinity Scarf ($28): I love everything about this scarf (the color, the price point, the print), but I don’t *need* another lightweight scarf right now. Plus I am pretty sure I received a very similar bird infinity scarf (which I kept) in a past Stitch Fix? Verdict: Returned:
~Pixley Dido Mixed Print Knit Top ($58): This shirt has a lot going on and I am not 100% certain I like it all. LOL! The back is sheer (you can totally see the teal tank I have on under it), but I love the mixed materials look. It’s just not flattering on me and hung kind of weird. I also found the bunched sleeves to be a tad awkward in length. Verdict: Returned.
~Honey Punch Judee Ribbed Hooded Cardigan ($68): Obviously I love this. It’s a cardigan and it has a hood. I pretty much keep all cardigan and hooded tops that Stitch Fix sends me. What makes it even better is that it also has pockets. And it’s not crazy expensive. It’s comfortable and cozy and I don’t have a sweater in this color in my closet. Verdict: Kept.
~Just Black Addison Skinny Jean ($88): These *might* be the most comfortable jeans I have ever tried on. They are so incredibly soft. However, they almost feel too soft – too broken in. I’m not sure if too many people have gotten / returned them from their Fix or if they are just supposed to be that way? I don’t have much use for a burgundy jean though so they are headed back. Verdict: Returned.
~Colette Dorada Faux Suede Raglan Knit Top ($37): I thought this was going to be a homerun for me, but sadly it doesn’t look great on me. Just not flattering at all. I wish it was though because the sleeves are a faux suede and are SO soft. Plus the colors are perfect for me. Verdict: Returned.
I am keeping one item from this month’s Stitch Fix and that makes me happy. The prices in my box this month were great (it would have been $189.25 to keep everything in here), but as long as there is one time I love and I don’t lose my Styling Fee, I am satisfied.
