I was excited to see that this was a painting project!
The December 2016 Smart Art explored the Mixed Media painting technique and focused on the artist Robert Rauschenberg. Mr. Rauschenbergis considered one of the most influential American artists for his role in the transition from Abstract Expressionism to modern art movements.
The box included:

~Decoart Media Texture Sand Paste
~Pebeo Cerne Relief Paint (Gold)

Every Smart Art project includes detailed instructions on how to complete that month’s project.
Hmm. So my project didn’t turn out much like the pictures on the instructions. I can pinpoint a few areas where I went wrong, though. I used too much paint and didn’t let the layers/coats dry before moving on to the next step. The paint was thinner than I expected (except for the yellow which was thicker than anticipated) so when I dropped it on the canvas it was just way more than I was expecting. Luckily Smart Art included a second canvas and a mixed media pad so that I can try this again!
